The Kate Spade Women's Charlottesville Malea Tote is an elegant, refreshingly basic tote for spring.

You might call this a "safe" tote, which makes it an excellent investment piece. Made from smooth, shiny cowhide (or so they say, but have you ever seen a green cow? I didn't think so.)(Yes, I'm kidding.), the bag has simple lines, charming tassels, and gold-toned hardware.

What a great looking Spring bag...looks like something I'd be proud to carry in Paris, the city I write about. I'm always looking for purses that are edgey and come with a price tag under $500. These days bags to drool over frequently cost over $1000 and in this ailing global economy even the die-hard shoppers are looking for bargains! beth@paris-insider.com
