--Robert Hytner, who founded the defense contractor Information Manufacturing Corporation has paid $8.5 million for a three-bedroom apartment at 25 Central Park West.
--Kenneth Martin, who retired as the CFO of Wyeth in 2007, and his wife Christine, paid $2.575 million for an apartment at 455 East 86th Street.
--Martin Payson, a former vice chairman of Time Warner, and his wife Doris, have paid $5 million for a condo at 170 East End Avenue.
--Bruce Wilcox, an exec at Cumberland Associates, has listed his townhouse at 125 East 62nd Street. He bought the home for $8.5 million in 2005. It is listed at $9.45 million.
--The NY Post's Page Six says the newly-engaged Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone have picked up a $13 million West Village townhouse on Bethune Street with a private garden and roof terrace.
--Hedge funder Dan Loeb sold his carriage house at 7 MacDougal Alley to art gallery director Gordon Veneklasen for $5.5 million, it was originally listed at $7 million.
--Ross Heller, a managing director at NewOak Capital, and his wife Yael, paid $3.75 million for a three-bedroom condo at 60 Beach Street.

--A NYC townhouse that belongs to mergers and acquisitions lawyer Harold S. Nathan, has gone to contract. It was originally listed at $22.75 million and was cut down to a listing price of $17.95 million.
--Joan Raines, the daughter of the Pat Nixon–endorsed postwar fashion designer Adele Simpson, signed a contract to sell her late parents' mansion at 5 East 78th Street to a Wall Street executive and his wife for $23.5 million. When the time came to close the deal the couple walked away forfeiting a $2.35 million deposit. It has been relisted for $21 million. The listing is here.
--The duplex penthouse at 1001 Park Avenue, where the Blackstone Group's billionaire president Hamilton "Tony" James is head of the co-op board, is on the market for $5.9 million.
