I've known about blingy G-Shock watches for a while, but I didn't know just how popular they were. You'll go ahead and make your own value (or taste) judgment about these watches, but I am more amused than impressed. While they aren't the only ones doing so,
Z-Shock modifies
Casio G-Shock watches with precious metal cases (silver, gold, and platinum) that are studded with diamonds, other precious gems, or cubic zirconium (depending on what you want to spend of course). The above watches are from the Z-Shock "Presidential Collection," including "the President" and "the Vice President." You'll notice for the most part, the watches are still the basic utilitarian Casio G-Shock models we are all familiar with. However, the plastic cases are removed and replaced with precious gem-studded metals. The large backlight button, pushers, and resin straps are all "stock." There is something unnatural about the look frankly - as I would have preferred at least some strap upgrades.
The pleasure of owning your own Z-Shock customized Casio will run you about $2,800 and up. Opt for gold or platinum and real diamonds, and your bargain yard duty watch easily pushes $10,000 and beyond. Either this watch is gold making Casio look bad, or Casio making gold look bad.

Yup, the silver one I could wear for novelty value, but I'd rather cut of my hand than wear the yellow one.

Doesn't matter if it's got diamonds or made of gold, the fact that it's CASIO branded means it's market value will be less than the actual raw material value.
I can't believe a company that's best known for school calculators and uber-geek calculator watches would enter the luxury market.
Or is Bill Gates the new Madonna now?

Thanks for your blog post about the custom Zshock bezels for the Casio G-Shocks (even though they are certainly not your speed, and we kinda knew that before you even wrote your blog). These watches are certainly not for everyone and we understand that, but there is a large market that loves the G-Shocks and collects them. The celebrities and athletes that sport custom iced outG-Shocks have fueled the desires of the young, hip, urban and Generation Nexters. The whole point of these blinged out watches are that you can do it if you want and if you have the means, and a lot of people want to. Pharrel Williams was one of the first to do it and the list of celebs and athletes goes on and on. Customized straps and buttons would kill the look and take away from the original design. We are just trickin out the classic G's. Also, please note that Zshock is in no way affiliated with Casio Computer Co.

Are you kidding? These are amazing. I own MANY G-Shocks and a blinged out version is exactly what I need with a fresh pair of denims and a crisp T. Now don't get me wrong, I also wear a blinged out Cartier Roadster as well as a Gold Rolex not to mention a whole list of other watches I own. But this too has it's place in my war chest. Z-Shock will be getting an order from me tonight. I like the Zshock Genesis Series myself http://zshock.com/prsecugbebyz.html

I checked out the site and these look nice to me. The Zshocks will never replace a high end time piece but it sure does look fun.

I have been looking everywhere for a custom G-Shock. Im young, flashy, and love to own unique stuff. The pics that you posted from Z-Shock looked even better than the ones that all the celebrities wear. Is this where all the Celebs get their custom G-Shocks. If your young and flashy check the site out. I have to order one. Young Money!!

I ordered one and to be honest I wasn't the least bit thrilled. It was very cheap looking and light weight. It looks fake.
