Gordon Ramsay Selling Out of Versailles

Last week we learned that celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay had sold his restaurants in West Hollywood and Prague, now the Telegraph says that Ramsay is set to sell his restaurant in France. Like the West Hollywood restaurant, Gordon Ramsay au Trianon opened just last year with the usual Ramsay mixture of fanfare and braggadocio. Ramsay promised the French he would bring the best of British cuisine to their country.

Who really cares - he's a 'real prince of a guy'.

For all the egomania of this man, his restaurants serve mediocre food. His kitchens are extremely clean, and he runs a tight ship, but that isn't always such a great thing. His employees are stressed, and it shows. His food lacks imagination, and let's face it - if you are going to eat out in a fine restaurant in this age, you want something better than you can prepare for yourself at home in 30 minutes. I can make anything on his menu in less time than it takes to drive there.

Couldn't stand this guy first time I saw Hell's Kitchen. Didn't watch it again until one night I was surfing and it was on and a woman/single mom, that had gotten her cooking experience from working in a Diner was competing. That kinda caught my attention so I would check in weekly to see how she was doing. She didn't win but she was one of the last 4 or 5 and Ramsay said he was so impressed with her Natural skill that he would like to send her to Culinary School and he'd pay the tab. Then when she graduated he would like to hire her to work in one of his restaurants.
That's when I started looking at him in a different light. I still don't really like Hell's Kitchen but I do like his Kitchen Nightmares show!

just keep your trash taken out, your dishes clean, and wash your hands often, cleanliness in a restaurant is a definite , no excuses for help who are too sorry to do their jobs right...ramsay knows how to weed out the doers from the lazis...you can have quality in both your food and your restaurant...people enjoy knowing that the people who serve their food and cook it are concerned for their health as well as their dining experiences.

"Ramsay promised the French he would bring the best of British cuisine to their country."
No wonder it failed. Fish & Chips is not cuisine.
