Michael Vick's Atlanta Home Up For Auction
Last November I mentioned that Michael Vick's Atlanta home was for sale. No buyers were found and now the home will be up for sale on Tuesday, March 10 with a minimum bid of $3.2 million in order to satisfy some of Vick's outstanding debts. Vick, who played football for the Atlanta Falcons, is still in jail serving out his sentence for his role in a dogfighting scandal. He was last asking $4.1 million for the home in the Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth, Georgia. The eight-bedroom home has lake views and a grand look with two-story foyer with a curved double staircase and dome, a two-story study, a home theater, wet bar and a gymnasium. The only sign of VIckness is that big number seven set into the den floor. Vick bought for the home for $3.78 million in 2005..
The AP took a tour of the home checking out the elevator, and the bottom floor which included Vick's simulated golf game, weight room, and mini theater. He also converted a bathroom into his own personal barber shop. It's a dramatic testament to a story of the American dream gone wrong. Vick moved in to the house around the time that he landed what was then the richest contract in NFL history. Now he has seen many of his possessions sold off and when he is done serving his sentence he will face a whole new reality.
A video tour is after the jump.
UPDATE: The house was not sold. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution only two bidders showed up and neither had a qualifying bid.

The neighborhood is really tacky. The homes are unimaginative and all lack a distinct style. I can't imagine anyone paying over 2 million for this home...which is in the same neighborhood as a home that was used as a brothel.
Sugarloaf (where this monstrosity is located) is a haven for the newly rich (i.e. more money than taste) and is ripe with foreclosures. And, in this economy, who wants to saddle themselves with something so expensive to maintain? Plus the stigma of being the home of this piece of trash is enough to knock another million off the asking price. Buckhead (Atlanta) offers a much better selection of beautiful homes without having to live in country club.
I'm betting this place will be on the market for a long, long time.

Yet the traitor, Geo. W. Bush, walks around a free man when his lies caused thousands of needless deaths.

It's okay for Mexicans to have cock fights and not spend one second in jail. However, for Vick... God forbid don't do anything to dogs, but kill babies and children and get a slap on the hand. When does dogs become more valuable in life than children.

Hook: yes the punishment does fit the crime...hellooo! When you say you are an animal lover, do you do your part by not eating their meat? Or do you just like to compare American food culture to the horrendous abuse and brutality Vick and cohorts subjected these dogs to? Get a grip and know all animals should be treated fairly and humanely, even knucklehads like yourself.

He went to jail because he was gambling ... not only in his own town but over state lines.
I am glad he was punished for something at least because I believe what he did was very wrong. He wasn't just killing dogs, he was being extraordinarily cruel to them, beating one dog to death himself. Anyone that can do that can do the same to a human.
He deserves more jail time than he got, no doubt because of his celebrity status. I hope no football team hires him. He had his chance at the top and he blew it because he's arrogant, selfish and cruel, not to mention a liar to his closest allies.

The punnishment does not anywhere near fit the crime.
May this HORRIBLE act follow him until his last breath.
Karma....Karma....Karma....
May BAD LUCK FOLLOW HIM WHEREVER HE GOES.
The home should be donated to the HUMANE SOCIETY.

No matter how you feel about the reasons he's tanked his career, he broke the law, killed dogs with his bare hands and generally demonstrated bad decision making by gambling. The color of his skin makes no difference in this matter and saying that color is a determining factor in the case is a cop-out. Good and bad people come in all colors.
He's bad and will hopefully spend the rest of his life regretting this disgusting behavior. The sooner he's out of the Metro Atlanta area as a homeowner, the better we'll all be here. If you want him in yuor community, just invite him. I'm sure he won't be overloaded with offers.
