Prada Pitone Tote, Handbag of the Day
The Prada Pitone Tote is one seriously hot new handbag. Posted on the Saks Fifth Avenue website:
"Due to popular demand, a customer may order no more than three units of this item every 30 days."
Good heavens! We also noticed that they are refusing to ship to California. And why is that? Python.
Pitone, for the uninitiated, means python in English, and it is unlawful to sell or ship python skin in California.
This python tote has a snakeskin side bow, leather lining, inside zip pocket and drawstring closure. Pretty fancy, but we'd imagine that the signature gold Prada logo is why it's selling quite so well.
The Prada Pitone Tote is available from Saks Fifth Avenue (unless you're in California) for $2,990.

That bag is considered hot? I think it looks like the results of an amateur Photoshopping an festering boil. That thing is seriously ugly.

I had no idea that python skin sales were illegal in California. Does that include boots & belts & all other snake-skin products as well ? Because it's very easy to find these products in California, and the people that sell them have no problem selling these items.

I don't even like it, it's as ugly as sin! If this is high fashion you can keep it. Now one of the hot ones last year, I can't remember the designer name, that looked like the old-fashioned doctor's bag. I particuarily liked it in black. Now THAT was a beautiful handbag. I would have kept that one forever had I been able to get one. I still have my good old faithful coach which I think I'll hold onto if this is the latest thing. If they're going to create a craze, couldn't they at least make it attractive? I have grubby tote bags that look better than this thing. And what happened to this thing about furs and skins? Why hasn't PETA created their usual hoo-ha over this? I would think even if it is still only a snake they would still get involved. Anyway, someone else can have mine, I'll wait to fight over something that is actually attractive.
