Red Carpet Rundown, Oscar Fashions 2009

It's time for the Super Bowl of Los Angeles otherwise known as the 81st Annual Academy Awards. With a heaping dose of help from The Lookbook, we are checking out the Oscar fashions as they roll in. So far what we have been seeing is pretty tame, floor-length gowns fitted tight to the body and as predicted, a decrease in the blinding bling (although there have been a couple of impressive Fred Leighton necklaces on display). The prevailing palette has been a study in muted tones with many opting for ivory, nude, black, beige and gray and only a few bright red or blue dresses in the mix. We'll be updating the gallery as the images of Oscar night roll in.
