As the
WSJ's Heard on the Runway points out, last fall Jason Wu was considered a talented and emerging young designer. But since Michelle Obama chose Jason Wu dresses to wear for the inaugural balls and her first Vogue cover, he's suddenly gone from being the up and coming to the made it big. On Friday, Wu showcased another collection of his classic ladylike ensembles. Wu's bread and butter is a cool yet wearable line of feminine dresses in rich, bold colors--the very colors that Mrs. Obama seems to prefer. Wu was asked if he designed with the First Lady in mind and said that she is "the ultimate muse." I expect that some of these designs will walk right off the runway and into the White House closet.
