Mandy Moore Getting Out of the Clothing Business

My colleague Jared Paul Stern mentioned the other day that many celebrity clothing lines are in trouble. Now another celebrity may be voluntarily choosing to shut down her line.
Mandy Moore is said to be closing down Mblem, the casual clothing line she launched in 2005. She has said she wants to concentrate on her music career. She hasn't completely ruled out coming back in the future but told WWD that if she were to go back in to the into the fashion business it would have to be "a great partnership that could represent a true reflection of me and my ideas and you know that wasn't happening." Moore's modestly priced pieces have also been worn by other members of young Hollywood including Vanessa Hudgens and Sophia Bush.

Not to give a "rat's ass" means you dont give a damn about the situation and the reason they say "rat's ass" is because rat's are ginnuea pigs that we test things on before humans use or consume.

I would love to purchase clothing made in the USA. I am not crazy about the styles we have to purchase these days. The fabrics are cheap and I think about all those poor souls having to work in those sweat shops. I am not knocking them as they do what they have to do but dang...when is the last time you purchased any clothing made here.
Yes! I would love a real good fitting American made style.

I really wish the clothing people would make clothes with roomy sleeves on long sleeved tops. In the past couple years, the sleeves are made just to fit your arm, and this is quite uncomfortable. By the way, Kmart sells Mandy Moore CD's!

Oh, boo-hoo. A celebrity isn't going to be making a bundle off of cheap clothes made by kids in sweatshops all over the world. I do not feel sorry for any of these self-important fools that tried to make money on crap that has their name slapped on it. Its about time we spent the money on more important things instead of supporting their lifestyles!

"Saved" was also a great movie and I dont care what anyone thinks but "because I said so" is one of the best girly movies of the past few years. I also didnt know she had a clothing line.

every celeb under the sun all of the sudden thinks they can design, they are totally unoriginal, untalented and boring leaches. They slap their pathetic name on somebody elses work and try to make more money for them selves. they are such prostitutes, a real actress wouldnt bother with a "purse LINE"

I view celebrity clothing with doubt. Purchased thru mail order, a celeb-designed superbowl winner T shirt in a Misses Large - I am a Misses Medium, but I purchased a large because I had suspicion that it would run small and perhaps shrink as it was 100% cotton. The large sized T was too tight for me, despite me purchasing the Large, and it fit my size-6 SIL perfectly. It appears that this celebrity's stuff was marked with sizes (S, M, L & XL) but it was all only one size "Small" - just like her. It cost about $45 and I returned it immediately. When I complained to the online merchant about the sizing problem, the merchant "flipped the script" and nastily told me that perhaps I wasn't a size large, maybe I am really an XL because they "know" that the item is sized properly. I will never purchase anything that a celebrity designed ever again. The quality just isn't there. Everyone involved is only captializing on the celeb's name
