On the other hand, I don't really think a Porsche should be the car to learn to drive on. I learned on a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle when I was 14. I bought it in great condition for $4K, all of which I had worked 2 summers for (350 hrs). I recently put another $3K of my hard earned money in it. Now I just got my license and my beautiful trophy winner is all I drive. It's a 4 speed, no power steering, no power brakes, no frills, none of that. It's reliable, super cheap to fix to this day, parts are exceptionally easy to come by (most parts I get at Auto Zone), it has 46hp though geared to perfection, what is not to like about it for a first car?
