This house has been for sale for an eternity. According to records, they paid 7.8 million for it and it was listed for 40 million almost 2 years ago and now it's down to 30..... seems they still have a way to go to bring the price down further. It didn't sell at 40 when the market was red hot on fire and didn't sell at 35 while the market cooled, and now 30 when the market is dead .... they haven't hit the right price yet.

If you go to realtor.com, you will see a MUCH nicer and MUCH larger home on a bigger lot for only $5M more.
It, too, was on the market for $40M for quite some time, before the $5M price reduction -- where it has sat for quite some time.

Hi Eric, I got curious and took a look. Do you mean the Lytle mansion? We covered that one way back in 2005, http://www.luxist.com/2005/10/10/the-lytle-mansion/ when it was at $40 million and it had been on the market a while then. I agree, that home is fantastic, definitely would be my choice too right down to that Las Vegas-like Egyptian-themed pool.

Yes, Deidre, that's the one. I am honored (really) that you responded to one of my posts.
Thanks again for including the link that takes you to all of the pictures in a single page.

I agree that the price is steep for these times, but the kitchen, master bedroom, living room and indoor pool are just great. Fabulous setting, but for $30M how much does the sun shine in that part of Washington state? You can buy a lot of real estate for $30M. Good luck
