If I understand this correctly I can log on to one of these websites and contribute what I can/want, and have to go where I want it to? Sometimes I don't like to give my information to a charity because they won't leave me alone.
Thanx,
Diana

Diana

Comments on WellGood, Charities of the Day

Laura,
Thank you for the very nice post about our work on http://www.ChangingThePresent.org and http://www.ClassWish.org. We truly appreciate it.

Diana,
You can donate through ChangingThePresent.org to support any of half a million nonprofits (and you can maintain your privacy if you wish). You can also donate toward any of about 1600 specific opportunities. For instance, you can preserve an acre of the rain forest, fund an hour of cancer research, provide cataract surgery to restore a blind person's sight, etc. With so many choices, you're sure to find something meaningful. You can also give those donations in a friend's name, in lieu of a traditional gift (after all, your friends probably have enough stuff). You can even personalize a printed greeting card, which will include a photo and description of your gift, right from the site. And if you like that idea of a more meaningful gift, you can create a wish list and registries to let your friends know what you would appreciate.

http://www.ClassWish.org lets teachers, administrators and PTA/PTO officers shop for whatever they need and create wish lists. We give them the tools to share those wishes with parents, alumni, neighbors, friends, local businesses and others. Visitors can see exactly what is needed and how they can help. Their donations are tax-deductible, and ClassWish provides a receipt. It couldn't be any easier!

We don't have millions of dollars for advertising, so we appreciate your sharing the word of these nonprofit sites with those you know. Thank you!

Robert Tolmach
