Charlie Krafft and Maiden Noir

Browsing last week at (capsule), a PR event that takes place in New York, Paris, and Las Vegas and promotes hot designers, I spotted this unusual necklace with the Maiden Noir clothing. Next to it was a set of ceramic shotgun shells. I asked the Seattle-based reps what on earth was going on.
"Is that a tooth?" I asked.
"It's a tooth," they said. I was intrigued. Apparently, for the last few years, Maiden Noir has been collaborating with ceramics artist Charlie Krafft once per year to create an artwork/piece of fine jewelry. I breathed a sigh of relief. It's a ceramic tooth. Krafft felt it should be worn like a badge of honor, like you survived a bar fight.
(with a small dinosaur ... the tooth was around two inches long)
You can see more of Charles Krafft's artwork here at the DiRT Gallery, or contact the hot clothiers Maiden Noir if you are interested in purchasing a tooth.

A bloody tooth--not very luxurious. Gross really. And the pic is just gruesome.

just me, you got it right. This is genuinely ghastly. At best, it's like something custom-made for Hannibal Lecter. At worst, with the gold cap, it's like something from a concentration camp. Revolting.

Hmm. I have a crusty old molar lying around somewhere. Perhaps I'll have it rose gold plated and then drilled so that I may wear it as a pendent. ;)

While I'm at it, I think I'll collect my toenail clippings, and have them turned into beads for my molar pendent. ;)
