Favre-Leuba Bathy V2 Diving Watch With In-house Movement

The recent revival of Favre-Leuba watches also brought with it the V2 (version 2) of a favorite diving watch from years past - the Bathy. Last year saw the introduction of the new Favre Leuba Bathy watch using an in-house caliber FL 305 movement. Unique to the movement is the use of a beryllium copper membrane that functions as the mechanism behind a depth gauge, something that only highly exclusive mechanical diving watches possess.

The beautiful 46mm titanium case frames one of the most beautiful modern diving watch faces. Large hands are skeletonized to help legibility, and the internal rotating bezel is easy to use and read. The slits on the rear of the watch function to allow water into the case as part of the depth gauge function.

At SIHH 2009 in Geneva next week, Favre Leuba will further complicate the Bathy watch line by adding an in-house made chronograph movement into its flagship diving watch. This is a proud achievement for the company, and will add a new and desirable luxury diving watch into an already competitive market niche.
