Aged wine, aged whisky, how about aged shoes? The latest idea from Italian shoemaker Silvano Lattanzi involves a rather unique technique for aging leather. Lattanzi buried some of his handmade shoes in an aging pit for four years. He calls them "Scarpe di Fossa, or "entombed shoes." Lattanzi says" "As wine and cheese age to reach perfection, these shoes become more precious through this natural, unpredictable aging process. They attain a one-of-a-kind vintage effect." The price for entombed shoes starts at $12,000.
