Diddy Demands Free Tickets to Inauguration
While he eagerly threw away $750,000 on an unsolicited James Bond movie audition last month, Sean "Diddy" Combs he has refused to cough up the $50,000 ticket price to President-Elect Barack Obama's inauguration in Washington on January 20.The rap mogul has flatly refused to pay his way even though stars like Halle Berry and Sharon Stone have opened their wallets. "It's hilarious," an insider tells Vogue UK. "Sean Combs is trying to get four tickets. He's acting like it's a party at Bungalow 8 [a nightclub in New York], like they should just let him in. He's too cheap to pay and thinks he can just show up."

He's just warming up for the welfare state, get used to it.
The Laughing Man Jan 4th 2009 1:13AM
Welfare state? You can't turn America into a welfare state if the previous president bankrupt the country.

Your grammatical and factual errors aside, how does one trillion dollars of new federal spending, an amount nearly one tenth of the existing federal deficit, lead to greater solvency?

This is kind of off-topic for luxist, isn't it? Is this a celebrity gossip blog all of a sudden?

Diddy's kind of in the right here. The tickets are supposed to be free, and you get them from your Congressman. They are not supposed to be sold. Even eBay and StubHub are supposed to be blocking sales of Inauguration tickets on their sites.

OMG, I can't wait!
My custom pieces by Karl Lagerfeld have already been flown in from Paris for the inauguration and they will be retrieved from Teterboro tomorrow by my domestic staff who will delivered it to my penthouse at Fifteen Central Park West, where me, Anna, Andre, and Marc Jacobs will lounge around on my vintage Chanel suede and chopard beaded throws while they critique each and every outfit I plan on wearing on the 20th of January to make my presence known in DC.

Diddy needs a reality check and needs to realize that not everything is free just because you are a celebrity.

Diddy is a celebrity?
a83 Jan 4th 2009 11:28AM
Perhaps he thinks he helped Obama to be elected by reaching out and lending his cred to the cause. (and not only his own, but initiating a celeb movement)
And since US is all about being entertained like...
Well, point being, he deserves a personal invitation from Obama.

Isn't this the same guy who J-Lo kicked to the curb because he tried to "punk" his was out of a weapons charge with his driver?
yea, I thought so.
Puff this you loser.
By the way, your Vodka tastes like crap too.
I'd rather hang with my 40 and my Newports.
Bill Jan 4th 2009 11:10PM
I actually agree with Diddy on this. He did help the campaign out. And, if I had done the same, I'd expect free tickets also.

Vote or die. That was a winner. He should leave politics alone. And acting.

when ditty thought hillary might win, he was in her corner. but the moment obama wins, he starts talking that smack about being a proud black man. ditty is just an oportunist who is trying to link up with obama, but i'm sure obama won't be havin it.
and if you are reading this ditty, when other rap artists make videos, you need to keep a much lower profile. you are always trying to hog the stage with your dancing. i remember watching that HYPNOTIZ video by BIGGIE. the camera showed more of you than biggie. get over yourself. and while we are at it, use some of your money to buy more acting lessons. i saw you in RASIN IN THE SUN. you SUCKED buddy. only people who have never seen the original would think that that movie was anything worthwhile. the young boy who played your son was more of a convincing actor than you. i'm sure everyone around you told you you were good -- BUT THEY LIED! watching your pitiful acting in RASIN IN THE SUN only served to show how GREAT of an actor SYDNEY really is. NO FREE TICKETS FOR YOU BUDDY! take some of that tacky Sean Jean money and open up your wallet just like the other black celebrities have. you dude, were not a supporter.

Dumb ditty dumb. His time has passed. He doesn't want to face the music he's just a egocentric middle-aged dad. I realized it when I tasted that vodka he pushes. Yeschhk! Truth is, he was never a genuine rapper or a talent of any kind - except at marketing himself for being untalented. Real Paris Hilton, real late 90's. Just a kid with some entitlement complex from wealthy Westchester County.

Anyone connected to Mr. Combs should really take a look at the track record of those associated in the past...
Christopher Wallace (aka Biggie Smalls, Notorious B.I.G.)- DEAD.
Jamal Barrow (aka Shyne)- 10 year prison sentence after Puffy bought his way out of the night club shooting charges.
Dwight Myers (aka Heavy D.) - held partially responsible leagally for 9 deaths after a Puffy promoted concert was oversold and the ensuing stampede left 9 dead and many injured. Career is presently DOA.
Lil Kim- prison time and dead career.
Craig Mack,The Lox, Jodeci, DREAM, Da Band, Farnsworth Bentley, etc... careers are all DOA.
Danitykane, Donnie Klang, Day26, etc... ???????

Send the bill to Obama.
jj Jan 15th 2009 8:25PM
Typical negro! He feels like others owe him something. He "thought" he bought a "brother". Obamama is just another paid off government worker, who will accomplish nothing and disappoint the low income Americans who voted for him. Change my a$$!
Michael Jan 17th 2009 8:15AM
Diddy needs to grow up. However, the vodka that he promotes (Ciroc) is actually probably one of the best I've ever tasted in a martini, or straight-up.

And he had a blast with Beyonce, Solange & Jay-Z.
