Northside Drive, Estate of the Day

Today's home is a huge newer home on over five acres in Atlanta, Georgia. The gated estate includes a pool, spa, tennis court, pond & gazebo. The listing says it shows like a model home and it reminds me a bit of one of those "street of dreams" decorator homes with details like the mural in the kitchen and a mix of some rooms that seem very decorated and others that seem more spare. The home has a home theater area, rec room, six bedrooms and an office tucked into the turret-like facade. It is listed at $5 million.

Seriously? $5,000,000 for this pile of ugliness? Only in Atlanta.

Sweet Mary mother of Jesus, this house is terrible!! This has to be the cheapest looking, tackiest, mismatched, ill-executed, room-to-room theme houses in the known Universe.
Okay, maybe that's exaggerating a bit, but I am sure it has a listing in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe as "most expensive ugly house on planet Earth, Milky Way..."
I would offer them $1MM, perhaps up to $2MM depending on the location, IF they gutted the place first - and that includes everything from the furniture, to the cabinets, couches, lamps, 'art,' all the way down through the paint!

Like so many other Atlanta area homes, this one lacks any distinct style. I would pay for only the value of the land. The house should be razed.
To be fair, the neighborhood is excellent.

Don't seem cozy at all, not for 5MM.

The decor..Looks like it was decorated by a colorblind moron..

What is that purpose of the quirky room with the air-hockey table, two small ice cream tables and the projection screen tv? I cannot imagine anyone wanting to sit down in those little chairs that and tables for any reason at all. They look like they came out of a commercial establishment. The entertainment center setup with the faux leather sectional soft just looks ... sad.
Not that I put a lot of stock in a media room but for a $5M home it better have more bells and whistles to make up for the lackluster design of the house and current interior design failures.
