Barack Obama's Hotel Has A White House View

Barack Obama may not be able to move into the White House but at least he has a view of his new home. President-elect Barack Obama and his family will be moving to Washington D.C. this weekend and will be staying at the Hay-Adams hotel through January 15. After that they will move to Blair House, the traditional pre-inaugural home. Sasha and Malia Obama start school on Monday at Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. The Hay Adams penthouse presidential suite usually goes for between $2,500 and $5,000 per night according to CBS News. It only has one bedroom so it is likely the Obamas have rented more than one suite for the next two weeks. It does feature a living room overlooking the White House, Lafayette Park and St. John's Church and includes a large dining table as well as a gas-lit corner fireplace. The master bedroom features a spectacular view of the White House.

Do you think he's actually paying for it? He just made that room famous -- enough to justify increase in future rates.

Bush should pick up the tab.....Seeing as how as a war criminal he should have tried, impeached, and sent to the Hague for justice ages ago.

We will walk woodland to New Fellowship Baptist Church.
The clean up Monday will be held in the area surrounding the New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 70th Street and Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia. Volunteers should meet at 10 a.m. in front of the church. The game starts later in the day at 1 p.m. at the Urban Neighborhood Renewal Service Gymnasium, located behind the church.
Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers, Philadelphia personalities and others in hosting the basketball game on the Rev. Dr. King’s birthday. Just as King was considered a drum major for peace, Moore said he hopes the game will unify young people in his Philadelphia community and encourage peace that will spread across Philadelphia and beyond its borders.
“This basketball game promotes peace by bringing together the communities,” said Moore, the well-known Philadelphia activist. “It is my desire to keep alive the ideals and dream of Dr. King and break down racial barriers that divide people not only in Philadelphia and throughout our country.”
A short program will be held prior to the game. The contest is free and the community is encouraged and welcome to attend this historical reenactment march at 5 p.m.

When Im in Washington, The cost of the room will be $250.00 a night for a very nice room and very nice Hotel. But then I have to pay for it. The tax payer don't have to pick up my tab. He should pay his own also, and practice what he preaches.

What is all this calling for him to pay for it himself? that's now how things work, stop being so naive. Would you expect him to pay for his Secret Service too? It does the country good to have him there early so that the transition loses no time, or would you rather him take a few months to settle in, get a feel for it and then start doing stuff? Stop being bitter. The view is nice.
