A couple of days ago, my colleague
Jared Paul Stern reported that Chanel was pulling the plug on their fancy world-traveling global art installation designed by Zaha Hadid. It seems that's not the only penny-pinching the French luxury brand had in mind.
According to the Guardian, Chanel is also cutting 200 jobs. The staff cuts are a direct result of declining sales, part of the overall slide in luxury spending that was not
alleviated by the recent holiday shopping season. Among the jobs are 16 posts at the brand's boutique on rue Cambon in Paris. The jobs represent almost 10% of the company's production workforce.

I think that Chanel has raised their prices unfairly. They have priced themselves out of my budget! I have purchased many bags in the past, but these last 18 months or so, they have gotten way too expensive! Their style and quality have gone down, while the prices keep escalating!
Hopefully they will adjust their product and price!, in the near future!

Chanel kills seals. They are of the very few companies that thinks its cool to club baby seals. Boycott their clothing and jewlery. Chanel when you get a conscience I will again but your products. Layoffs are terrible , but Chanel is a sick company. May their previous employees have the best of luck finding new employment.

I would agree that we should all boycott all things that contribute to injustice but hopefully you are a vegetarian as well with such a statement. It seems many are against killing one living creature but then engage in eating another like chicken, fish, etc.....And lets not forget those leather shoes, leather seats, those affordable brands that engage in sick cheap labor over seas......I could go on and on.
