Britain's largest budget hotel chain, Premier Inn, is creating a new cheapie hotel on water.
The Floatel will be built in Hartlepool Marina during 2009 and the company says it will be the first time a budget hotel has been purpose-built on water. The hotel will have 54 bedrooms with ensuite bathroom, TV and Internet access. The hotel's design will allow it to float vertically with the tide and the horizontal movement will be restricted by sleeved piles driven into the marina. The waterfront hotel will be linked to an existing Premier Inn by a pedestrian ramp and an external platform lift.

There are many hotels being built by premier groups. There is the Express Slough hotel (http://www.hiexslough.co.uk/) that has come up in Slough, Berkshire. This hotel boasts of state-of-the-art conference rooms for those looking for a place for meetings. Each of the bedrooms has an entire range of interactive services through an IPTV system. Besides, availability of data ports for fast Internet access, makes the stay convenient for those travelling on business.
