$10 Million for the Shoes Thrown at Bush
In case you haven't already seen it, here is the clip of a journalist in Iraq pelting George Bush with his shoes at a press conference (courtesy of YouTube user LenonHonorFilms).
Well, now there's more news. A Saudi man has offered $10 million for the shoes of Iraqi journalist/shoe thrower Muntadar Al Zaidi. The offer comes from sixty-year-old Hassan Mohammad Makhafa of Aseer (south west of Saudi Arabia). He's prepared to sell all his properties - which would be going to his sons - to purchase the shoes, which he describes as a "medal of freedom."
He apparently has plans to enshrine the shoes.

All I can say is too bad it wasn't a bomb! All the brave young men and women that have gotten killed in this stupid war because Bush did not want to be proven that he could actually be wrong. Also free Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean the two border patrol agents that got sent to jail because a mexican drug runner testified against them. This country is in a sad state when we take a drug dealer's word over two men that are trying to protect our border.

I knew there were stupid people out there but this moron takes the cake!!

$10M....Why ?..... He missed. In the U.S. we pay outragious prices for success, not failure.dummy

Just wait til Obama takes office...we'll all be required to put down the guns and pull off our shoes and through em back at em....

Seems like they reacted a little slow. He actually threw both shoes before the SS cared enough to get out of their chairs, lol. He's lucky the guy only threw shoes instead of trying to kill him.

Did you see that AP photo of Bush today after he gave his " America since 9-11" speech? In the photo I saw, he stared very intently at the camera as though he wanted to make sure that another pair of size ten "missles" weren't bearing down on him.
Tracy Dec 18th 2008 7:59PM
That journalist did good. Bush is a damn War Monger. That's what he gets for retaliating against them after 9/11. He sent our troops over their killing their women and children. That's not right. He f*cking deserved it.

Tell him I have a better investment idea for him, shoes produce nothing, my idea is to invest in something that does in the music business, it is called a studio where real music instead of junk heard today can be recorded and put on air by professionals in business to record it, and at a costs where those who were not born with a silver spoon stuck up you know where can get this done at a reasonable costs instead of the high costs of the coporate companies of the industry.

Small wonder Americans' have so little regard for middle easterners. Maybe we should let them defend themselves, and more importantly stay where they are.

For a Saudi to be buying it is just stupid.
We saved the Saudis from Saddam in 1990.
Without the First Iraq War we would never have had the Second. He's better off. The U.S. and Iraq not so much.
Now if an Sunni Iraqi who lost family/power in the invasion/occupation wanted to buy it that would be understandable.
The Moron probably doesn't believe Bin Laden when BL claims responsiblity for 9/11.

Please, President Bush, announce that after you are out of office, you will let anyone actually hit you with a shoe (security applies, and only hush puppys) for only $1 million, and give the money to charity or pay on the nation debt. Not only will it call their bluff, if anyone actually pays it, it will be for a good cause; and besides, it shows them their insult is meaningless to you.
TT-REXXX Dec 18th 2008 8:17PM
Bush is home looking for shoes for people to throw at him.I think this guy wrapped the towel around his head to tight

It is nice that the journalist has the freedom to throw his shoes at Mr Bush although had it not been for our country Mr Saddam Hussein would not been in office as well as because of our president the journalist was allowed to show his feelings but I ask you is it wise to throw anything at some one? Mr Bush should shake his hand because we in our country show that as a sign of respect but those in that part of the world consider it very offensive to be touched with the hand that wipes your ass so my hat is off to GEORGE LET FREEDOM RING
Susan Dec 18th 2008 8:44PM
I was disgusted by what that journalist did. I don't care if you like Bush or not, our President MUST be treated with respect by people in other countries. Imagine what would have happned if one of our journalists threw their shoes at the Cuba idiot or any of those Palestinian scumb bags. They would probably bomb or country. And what do we do? We do nothing about it. Shameful.
I do not support many of Bushs' decisions, but EVERY country should treat our President with respect. I think we should DEMAND that journalist be executed. You know damn well they would do that if it was one of our journalists. Get some backbone folks. Defend our country!!!!!!!!!!!!
ZAK Dec 18th 2008 9:23PM
What an idiot!!
Tracy Dec 19th 2008 4:45PM
YEAH. THAT'S JUST WHAT I WAS THINKING!
KEN Dec 18th 2008 10:30PM
Good Point. If that had been Saddam instead of Al-Maliki was standing next to him and somebody threw a shoe he'd be skinned by now and his entire Village and Clan destroyed. (Except the Women Uday kept for his private Brothel).
Not to say President Bush hasn't made huge mistakes but the former President of Iraq would have dealt with this person quite differently than the treatment he's getting.
Tasha Dec 19th 2008 2:24PM
Say what you want about Bush, but that man has some quick reflexes! By the way, if he was "pelting" Bush with his shoes wouldn't that imply that he actually hit him? I'm noticing that most people who want to write as a profession these days don't know how to write.
Tracy Dec 19th 2008 4:40PM
Oh really, Susan? Does the president have respect for us. The majority of the time the answer to this question is HELL NO! Bush retaliated against those people after 9/11. And what about that bullshit with the hurricane Katrina victims. Before Katrina, Thailand had a massive tidal wave and bush helped them out no questions asked. He defended some other counrty before he defends his own damn counrty. To me, that's not a president. Bush failed at being a good president. And I can't wait to see him get the hell of the office. SO LONG BUSH. WON'T MISS YA!!!!!!!!!!!
