Also in Italy we have the same problem. In the area where I live, Mezzocorona - Trentino - famous for Teroldego, are removing the vines to plant apple trees. Another problem is that in the adjacent valley (Val di Non - Trentino - really close, about 2 miles) are organized for the production and handling of apples, and instead here (Mezzacorona) over the years have invested heavily in the production of quality wine.
