Jaime Hayon Fantasy Collection For Lladro

Spanish designer, Jaime Hayon is rapidly heading for Philippe Starck/Karim Rashid territory. His playful and often strange designs have won fans around the world. While not a household name quite yet (he's only 34, give him time), he has worked on some interesting exhibitions and collaborations. His works with Lladro embody the viewpoint that he expressed in a recent interview that good design "has to communicate with the user. It has to have a personality and some fantasy." Lladro which is known for its rather traditional ceramics, has stepped into another world with Hayon's Fantasy Collection. The pieces have a unique charm, taking cues from tarot cards, the circus and surrealism but with a gentle and naturalistic touch. The pieces range in price from $400 to $3,300.
