Lake Minnewaksa, Estate of the Day

Homes in Minnesota over $10 million always attract my attention. This one, an expansive home of over 14,500 square feet on Lake Minnewaska was designed by architect Rehkamp Larson. The home and carriage house is set on 1400 feet of sandy beach lakeshore on Lake Minnewaska and includes 242 acres which can be developed. The home offers both indoor and outdoor spaces including a huge outdoor fireplace. The interior is bright and breezy and full of natural wood and stone details. The home is listed for $7.9 million separately without the acreage or an even $16 million with.

For me this estate is perfect; every detail is correct. All the woods are the same color, the stones inside and outside are well done, the furnish... Also the garden is cute. Compliments

I have to disagree with Jack. All the wood being the same color makes it look like you are living inside a tree. That place really needs some color contrast. That library is especially horrid.

that's way overpriced for just an OK house... design is more 4 star resort than custom luxury home. You also better love the design, because been through here... there's a whole lot of nothing around other than the lake (which is beautiful). if I was going to pick a remote luxury home location in Minnesota, i'd probably pick Leech Lake or Winnibigosh personally.

I live in Minnesota, and this house is nice and all, but this will be on the market forever. This is far away from the Twin Cities, but at the same time, is not really a huge cabin destination. This was built by an executive of a company based nearby, but he is probably the only person that can afford it in the area.
