Win A Copy Of The Home Book

Everyone seems to be spending more time at home lately (a deflated stock market and plunging real estate don't help). So why not make the home you've got more beautiful. The folks behind House Beautiful have just come out with The Home Book, a weighty tome dedicated to all facets of interior design. It is 464 pages and has more than 500 photos as well as tips that include theme, color, furnishings, wall and floor covering and just about every aspect of decoration. The focus is on defining your personal style and expanding it into the home in a way that creates a harmonious environment. It can also keep you from making some of the design mistakes that hurt a home when it is time to sell.
We are giving away one copy of this essential guide to all things home. To enter please leave a comment below. This week's comment starter is one prompted by my curiosity, I'm wondering, has the housing slump caused you to put off any decorating plans or are you spending more time and money sprucing up your abode since you may be there a while.
Some other important details:
* To enter, leave a confirmed comment below.
* The comment must be left and confirmed before Friday, November 14, 2008 at 5:00PM Eastern Time.

I don't think it's just the housing slump that's making me put off decorating; it's basically the state of the economy in general! This book would be a great way to see what little touches I could add without spending a lot!

With a book THIS size, you'll need another home just for the Home Book!

This book would make a great Christmas gift for that person looking for inspiration on how to make a house more of a home.

I would love to have this book so I could decorate my house in such a way to get it sold during this housing slump.

Nope, in fact we're looking to purchase a big new house.

I think the state of the economy is causing us all to cut back on decorating - im trying to save more than i spend, although next week im painting two rooms of the house, its a less expensive way to make a change i think.

While the economy has reduced my interior decorating budget, we are moving forward with a bathroom reno. Guess the bathroom is a necessity and the new chairs a luxury. AAARGH! Would love a copy of the book!!!

If the market trend continues, at least I'll have the book to sleep under.

I'm actually considering buying a place after renting for a couple of years so this book will come in very handy. Fortunately, so far I haven't experienced anything as a result of the slump.

After buying my condo 3 years ago, my tastes are evolving as I evolve. I am dying to decorate and need inspiration!

The current economic slump has me on the prowl for another home, actually. Too much optimism (which I'm optimist about) has kept prices higher than they should have been all things considered. Still, I'm a buyer and will buy nearly all new things to mark my new beginnings.

My fiancee would LOVE this book!
Bren Nov 11th 2008 2:39PM
The slump in the economy means I'm spending more time at home. I've been organizing, moving furniture around, etc. I'm disturbed by how satisfied I am when I reorganize the kitchen cabinets!

i'm constantly looking out for the best deals, but the slump is certainly putting a damper on any ambitious plans
