Beachfront in Malibu, Estate of the Day

Last week's LA Times Hot Property column led me to the beachside home of Roy Schlobohm, whose father founded the famed bra and lingerie manufacturing company, Shirley of Hollywood. Scholobohm has listed his Malibu beach home at $13.3 million and it's worth a long look if only for the verdant lawn all that glorrious beachfront. This property on Pacific Coast Highway is a bit up the coast in a secluded part of Malibu, away from the major clog of traffic. The layout is a bit weird, there are two houses with two bedrooms each, a main house and a guest house. Walls of glass make the ocean part of your daily life. The current decor is also interesting, the white and shiny contemporary house has been enlivened with animal prints and exotic art. This home is listed at $13.3 million.

There's not enough glass and mirrors in these houses.
Seriously, how much Windex do they go through every week to keep that place looking shiny? Even the oven doors are reflective!

I agee with Andrew. Beautiful view! I think that with the same money you could otherwise decorate the walls occupied by mirrors. Too white and beautiful landscape around, in the time may be monotonous, without counting the bad days where the gray is everywhere. Speaking of sustainability, with all that windows, what does it take to cool and heat?
It will be increasingly important design with "green criteria"; do not cost much more and the money spent today for a good project, will return soon with savings and the revaluation of the house.

the house has the curb appeal of a medical plaza and the interior decor was done by the same guy who does def leoppard album covers; however the beach view out the back is pretty special.
