Did they lower the ceilings in the living room and kitchen?  Those beams look like they cut off the tops of the windows.<br><br>It also looks like there is central heat/air as well as a boiler - ceiling vents and baseboard heat.<br><br>As far as the style, this is restrained for the period in which it was built.  Old Lake Shore Drive heading South from Chicago is filled with old buildings that try to combine Tudor with Mediterranean with schizophrenic vomit.
