Lux Tip: Eggs
Want to eat like a king? Your cook's on vacation? Make some eggs.No matter where you live, eggs are inexpensive and a terrific source of protein. Learn to do a few good things with eggs and you will always be well fed.
For a royal breakfast, try scrambled eggs with your favorite spices, as well as shallots or any finely chopped vegetable for texture. You can really throw the kitchen sink into a good scramble, but elegance is in simplicity. Add water or milk to your scramble to make it fluffier.
For a non-breakfast meal, add another inexpensive option, rice, to your eggs in a frying pan. Throw in some soy sauce and a little oil, and you have delicious egg-fried rice. You can throw the kitchen sink in here, too, but it's best to focus on a key vegetable or meat--whatever you have handy.
It's just another easy way to make life more lux for cheap or free.

So we go from the mini-Renaissance of JPS posts over the last few days to this?!
It's clear these posts are trolling for negative comments, and unfortunately I've taken the bait again.

I'm with you. I normally am the one driver who won't slow down and gawk or disrespect people involved in roadside accidents. I just keep driving and pass them by. However, the lure of these roadkill posts has proven too much. It's the only continuous set of posts in recent memory which just move me to neg-comment, most ever time. They are just sophmoric, offensive, out-of-place, take NOTHING from the constructive criticism (obviously the author remains unaffected or concerned that the word "lux" is spelled wrong with every post), and just plain comical in their "Teen Beat" style. If the goal is to simply troll for comments, alienate or invite the ridicule from Luxist readers ... job well done.

I thought these were a joke at first but now they keep coming. Its gone from the good old days with Deidre and Nicole to this...
And on that note I bid my farewells to Luxist and move on to the following two sites:
www.luxuryculture.com
www.sybarites.org
Both of which are "lux tip" free.
And Annie order yourself a club soda with lime. It's likely to be cheap and looks just like a gin and tonic.

yeah, i was defending this rubbish last time but this is going to the 'obnoxious' phase where these 'tips' are merely ridiculous and i believe meant to irritate - i did enjoy this site, but this is now a time waster for me - if i want cooking tips there's that chow blog .. i'm out also .. lux or luxe, doesn't matter any longer :)

the pens article was pushing it but now
making egg fried rice is luxury? I'm chinese and from Hong Kong but i'm not sure what culture you're from that egg fried rice with soya sauce is a luxury edge on life.
I've always liked luxist with feature on aviation and features on topics from around the world but please get rid of these articles. they're ridiculous!

Know what? If you click on this poster's name and look at the posts which preceded LuxE tips, you'll note they convey a completely different tone, and are written in a completely different voice. Methinks there is definately something rotten in the state of Denmark. Yeah, count me out as well. Luxist, it was nice while it lasted, and it's not me, it's you.

I used to read this blog regularly, and even submitted tips. As of today, no more. Goodbye Luxist.

I'm not so easily offended, and wouldn't miss Sunday's "Real Estate Roundup" for the world.
Ta for those leaving!

Oh thank god for the "most commented" column on the right hand side or I would have missed this marvel, this precious gem, this post "ridicule"! I love it for the humor, her humor and the marvelous humor in the comments area--brings joy to me, no lux(e), but joy.

I'll stick around for the Real Estate Round up and Estates of the Day, but will skip the Lux(E) tips. I suspect Annie Scott is just a catch-all name used by anyone who needs it that day, as the posts here, and at Slashfood, under that "author" differ wildly in their style. Here, can't stomach them. Over as Slashfood, they are fine.
