Lux Tip: Go Somewhere Fancy
Feeling out of touch with the finer things in life? Head to the swankiest bar in town--we particularly recommend a hotel bar. Safety first--tell a friend where you're going. If you're not going to a hotel bar, where it's perfectly normal to be alone, take the friend along.
If you're lucky enough to live in a town with a great hotel, enter the stunning foyer day or night with a good book and head for the bar. You can pretend you're a visiting prince or princess from Morocco, or that you're waiting for your European lover to meet you, whatever you like. Order yourself a club soda with lime. It's likely to be cheap and looks just like a gin and tonic. Who knows, your next drink might be free!
You can people watch or just sink into the lush decor, soft light, and meticulously planned ambiance and be transported.
It's just another easy way to make life more lux for cheap or free.

These columns, while well-intentioned, need to stop.

Yeah, I agree to what Jake said. Do something!
False lux is absurd. Let's make it real and do it premium like

This REALLY has to stop. As well intended as I think you are Annie, these a ghastly. This is not the place for such a thing. Please, someone, put an end to this. Sure, I can very easily skip over these posts, but why should I have to on a blog dedicated to life's luxuries. It's bordering on offensive and most definitely crosses the line into the absurd.

Please stop these posts. This post is obviously intended for those semi good looking ladies that are broke..."safety first" and order a club soda with lime b/c it looks like a gin and tonic. Say you're visiting a prince...I mean seriously get a life people....
Luxuries are made for the ones who can afford them...there's nothing wrong with not being rich...there's something wrong with pretending to be rich !!!!

Seriously --- WTF? These posts are simply silly and out of place. These posts are so poorly conceived and written as to make me wonder if Annie Scott is really Sandra Lee, branching out. If the next luxe tip involves a Korn-Nut Kwanzaa Cake, we'll know for certain.

Oh man, that's funny. She really is making me laugh now.

I like the posts. After all without the means you have to start somewhere.

This is silly. There are plenty of ways you can enjoy actual food and drink specials. I've seen a bunch of drink and restaurant deals on http://www.cityskoop.com ...restaurants are really trying to lure customers now and have discounted wine nights and food specials

Club soda with a twist sounds nice but ask the price first. At a recent event about 4-6 oz. of Diet Coke from a two liter bottle cost $5! It gets worse the bottle was warm and the ice melted fast leaving my drink cold and flavorless.
