Russian Billionaire Debuts His Magazine for Snobs
Back in April we reported that Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov (right) was planning to spend $150 million launching a new magazine for snobs. Now the first issue of Snob is about to go on sale with a cover price of $18, but it isn't just a gaudy homage to the oligarch lifestyle as lived by Luxist mascot Roman Abramovich and his compatriots. "A close look at both the target audience and the contents of Snob show that it doesn't promote the free-spending, bling-drenched stereotype made famous across the world by rich Russians in recent years," the London Independent notes. "While celebrating personal and financial success, it does so in a rather more restrained and worldly way." Too bad - we were kind of hoping for something a little more over-the-top.

I think the word "snob" means something different in Russia.

Magazines and people like this make me disgusted. The economy is awful, thousands of people have recently lost their jobs and there are people jetting around in private planes, polluting our environment, blinging out their phones with crystals and drinking $200 bottle of champanges.
I am always looking at ways to save money, so that I can go out and enjoy a good meal in a restaurant and other of life's pleasures that cost a little extra.
I personally love TARGET. Great for fashion and funky home stuff that looks like it cost a lot more, as well as staples.
I shop online to save money on gas, use less gas and save money period. I shop at all my favorite stores through an online website that gives me the unpublished codes at about 300 stores (including Target, The Gap, Best Buy, Old Navy,
Drugstore.com, etc) as well as giving me between 5 and 50% back in cash on my purchases. The site is http://www.fatcrumbs.com I am being good to the environment and great to my wallet.

It's an $18 magazine called SNOB. There's nothing "restrained" or "worldly" about it. The only way to make it more ridiculously opulent would be to print it on the dried skin of poor people or something.

you people made me sick your always talking about how someone should help the poor, you sound just like those big movie people allways want someone else to cought up the cash but never put up any of their own, just show up looking like they shop at the goodwill trowaways.
