World's Most Extravagant Party in Dubai Will be Visible from Space

Later this month, billionaire tycoon Sol Kerzner will launch his lavish new resort in Dubai with a $25 million party featuring a fireworks display so massive it will be visible from space. The event, for the grand opening of the $1.5 billion Atlantis, The Palm, will have 2,000 guests and last four days capped by a performance by Kylie Minogue (her first in the Middle East), and is being billed as the world's most extravagant party, the London Telegraph reports.

The 1,500 room resort, located on the world's largest manmade island, the Palm Jumeirah, covers several square miles, features 16 restaurants including a branch of Nobu, and is partially bankrolled by the Dubai Royal Family. The fireworks display is being put on by the same pyrotechnics experts who produce the Olympics opening ceremony; however the Atlantis display will be ten times larger than the one in Beijing, making it visible from space.

I'm not calling for terrorist acts in Dubai, but surely Bin Laden or someone must be pissed about what's going on there.

In Dubai, women are not permitted to show their legs or hair... even if there on vacation! And certain days, women cannot swim in the same pools as men! Do they have a gay thing going on within their religion as well? I thought they just worshipped money!?

hey "hate dubai". I think u mixed up Dubai with Saudia Arabia. Dubai has multi-nationalities here with diferrent religions and lifestyles. I see people covering their whole body and people exposing too much. It's not abt the religion, it's abt how some people out there complicate their religion. You probably dealed with the wrong people. hehe.

ive lived in Dubai for 15 years and i have always been able to show my hair! i walk out the house in skimpy shorts and no-one cares!

I'm sorry, but not ALL Arabs are Muslim.
Culture is different to religion.
