Allen Iverson in Villanova, Estate of the Day

Today is the latest in a long series of sports star homes lingering on the market. Denver Nuggets guard Allen Iverson has been looking to sell his home in Villanova, Pennsylvania for a year now. I first heard about it last year when the Wall Street Journal's Private Properties column first reported on it. Now a year later the same column reveals that Iverson has dropped the price on the 14,000 square foot home to a desperation price of $4 million. That's $1 million less than the former Philadelphia 76er and his wife Tawanna paid for it in 2003. The six-bedroom home is on four acres that include a pool house, stream and waterfall. The chateau-style home on Chateau Lane has four levels including a great room with floor-to-ceiling Palladian windows. The master suite has his and hers marble bathrooms, a coffee bar, media area and a veranda overlooking the grounds. There are four additional en-suite bedrooms and a separate guest quarters with a bedroom, living room and kitchenette. The entertainment level has a 12-seat movie theater, billiard room, and a lounge with a custom wood carved bar accommodating 200+ wine bottles. It is now listed at $3.999 million.

I live 5 min. from where this house is located and it blends in quite well with the rest of the homes in the area...including the windows(when you have a multi-storied room, for aesthetics sake you use multi-story windows). The only difference is that generally in our neighborhood the use of stone for the exterior is used much more liberally. So for Lilly with the "Ghetto-ing" comment...it was far from appropriate. And just an FYI it is a "mansion" due to the fact that it is over 10000 square feet and in additon to containing specific "mansion" criteria, was designed by an architect to the exact specifications of the owner. I will agree with the movie theater being very unattractive. And it is funny that from 10 pictures, 8 of which are taken from the outside... that Dave can proclaim that there is a need for a half-million dollars in renovations. You truly have a gift Dave.... if i send you a picture of my front yard can you tell me what needs to be done in my kitchen. lol. And for the kind gentleman who is trying to sell his home... I really agree with the comment of updating the home. It is either that or lowering the price even more. I would suggest pulling out as much as possible and having someone come in and stain the remainder, much darker. It is the most economical way.

Love to see it tuck to these highly overpaid "children's games" players. Oh no, he might not get that extra million to piss away. To the average American this is just gross and petulant.

It's a lovely home in a gorgeous area, known as Main Line of Philadelphia. I used to live in Bryn Mawr, which is nearby. All the towns near there are very nice but most people there prefer older homes with some history and character which is probably why it hasn't sold, not to mention the economy. AI will do fine eventually, it's a beautiful property.

DAVE WHO IN THE HELL MADE YOU AN AUTHORITY. LILY IS A RACIST, OTHERWISE SHE WOULD NOT HAVE USED THE GHETTO WORD IN THE VANACULAR THAT SHE DID. GET REAL.

Nobody is OVERPAID? PLEEEZ! thousands of CEOs, Athletes, etc are incredibly overpaid. Market Shmarket, has nothing to do with it. its a system designed to benefit some.. How many times have you seen an athlete get big bucks only to SUCK, or worse, injure themselves off the playing field doing things like playing halfcourt pickup games. People are overpaid ALL over the place
