Cindy McCain's $300,000 Outfit for the RNC
Thanks to the calculator-savvy fashion dept. over at Vanity Fair, we've got an estimated grand total for Cindy McCain's outfit from Tuesday evening's Republican National Convention festivities. The final cha-ching? $300,000. Highlights include her Oscar de la Renta fierce-collared shirtdress, a pair of $280,000 diamond sparklers and Chanel's J12 white ceramic watch. The shoes have yet to be identified -- any guesses readers? (I'm betting Manolo.)At least in the realm of fashion, Cindy is the elitist in this race. Remember Michelle Obama's pick for her appearance on The View? A $148 number from mass chain White and Black.

So how do we know that she was not looking at a $400k out fit and opted for the $300k outfit and gave the rest to charity. oh wait, we dont know. Why dont we know? because it is none of our business. How do you know the earrings were not a gift? from anyone? we dont. why dont we know? well, you get it. it is not our place to put a spending limit on someone else's wealth whether they can afford it or not. what impact does it have on anyone else? absolutely none, except the individual or business that she bought them from. now...i wonder who that was...

I am a democrat too, an I agree with what, Just Me said, she looked absolutely fantastic. I commented to my mother and grandmother that she was the bomb, in that gold dresss and she looks good at all times. But even before McCain started his campaign trail she probably looked this way. Kudo's for her, I wouldn't dare take anything from she is gorgeous. But, in these times of record job employment and home forclosures the look does not appeal to the undecided voters. I am a retired postal worker and I have to look out for my fellow postal workers who use to be among the elite class of people, when I was growing up, in the 1960's. I know, I know, we're talking about 2008, but how can a person graduating from high school make it today off of minimum wage with the economy today. With the present Republican situation. if you're not among the McCaininst level you are just making it.

The outfit did not cost in excess of $300,000. It behooves me why so many people believe everything you read or hear. Do the research people!
Cindy McCain not only gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities all over the world, she is right in the trenches helping with these charities as well. I don't see Hillary doing that. I don't see Michelle Obama doing that.
What I do know is that Michelle got a $200,000 raise when her husband became a senator AND he managed to get a $1 million earmark for her company. I don't care how little or much someone spends on their clothes - just wear what looks best on you. Michelle is clueless. Hillary is getting better. And who would put spaghetti straps on a 10-year old little girl?

It matters because the McCain's keep trying to paint Obama and his wife as elitist out of touch with typical Americans. If you wear a pair of $280,000 diamond earrings, you are not a typical American, you are a wealthy and elitist one.
And her charity work, in my mind, is negated by the fact that she was a drug addict and alcoholic who stole prescription pads and used them to get pills for her addiction--then lied about it when she got caught. She stole those rx pads from her own charity organization WHILE doing charity work, folks. That tells you how much she was actually focused on the charity part of that deal at that time and probably for a long time before and after.
It's a little like the bible, to me: you are either literal, and take it all and measure it all, or you do not. No clipping out what you personally refuse to honor or believe about it, or what you think does not apply to you. As I am an atheist, I am using the bible for illustrative purposes only here, but you get what I am saying, right?
IT ALL MATTERS. So, the fact that the people calling their opponents elitist, have 13 cars and 8 (or 9) homes, and the female half of the ones calling the others elitist wears $280,000 diamonds, DOES matter. If they had kept their mouths shut and not called their opponents elitist, we wouldn't have the right to judge, but they DID do that and we DO now have the right to judge them.

Who are you a$$ holes Elisabeth Hassleback? And
d marlowe, you ass, just what does Cindy McShame give our country? Not a fucking thing. She is a selfish bitch and gives nothing. If she wanted to give to this country she'd have that jack ass husband of hers giving more than a $5000 tax credit for health insurance.. Don't you STUPID FOOLS get it??? He means to have all corporations getting tax cuts and CUTTING OUT your insurance and any other benifits.. PRIVITIZE!!! His song and dance is you will do better aquiring your own benifits on your own.. His way no Americans will have the benifit of a GROUP health plan. Maybe (no really) you all are too stupid to understand the benifit of a group plan, but you can soon, if you vote for him. No groups means no more compition for insurance companies, gouge city is coming. $5000 means you will have $400 per month to buy your individual plans. That won't buy you an application by that time. Ever been sick? You won't be able to buy insurance. Not for less than $1500 a month. And that is just for starters. And just give me ONE, just ONE example of what Cindy or Juan McShame have done to benifit me or you???? Did you know Juan McShame has voted against all minimum wage increases and he votes against ANY & ALL attempts to have ANY kind of health care accessibility for AMERICANS. He did how ever sponsor a bill for a gratis health plan for mexicans here illegally, doing farming work and other things for his friends (who give his campaign contributions) in AZ, one of those is Charles Keating. Oh and YOUget to pay for those mexicans to have their Juan McShame health plan. What else, he has voted against every environmental issue that has come up for a vote. And he voted for EXXON OIL, to have 4 BILLION in tax cuts. They have been gouging us and making BILLIONS upon BILLIONS, and they still can't pay taxes. And you saved what on taxes??? $5 you did not get a tax cut and yet you still want to vote for him. The only republican tax cut is a job loss or cut in income. I personally don't care if Cindy McShame wears a t-shirt or a bikini, as long as you get that she does nothing for you, or this country. if she wanted to do something for this country, she would have her husband NOT running. WAKE UP.
