The fall colors, summer breezes and crisp winter air make the Adirondacks and amazing place to be at any time of year.  I wish i could afford something like this. TNC hopes this sell off will raise over $35 million.  <br><br>The Glens Falls, NY based paper firm Finch, Pruyn and Co listed the long held lands somewhat unexpectedly which caused several groups to scramble quickly to acquire it. <br><br>The Adirondacks has more then its fair share of strife when land becomes available and what can be allowed with it. From making lands off limits to human access, intentional erasing of historic (and beautiful) "camps", loss of sustainable logging and with it jobs, the elimination of significant chunks of taxable lands to small towns, et al, it isn't as easy as just saying no to 'development'.  The concept of preservation is necessary but striking the right balance is difficult.]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[Spectacular Bid]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Sep 3rd 2008 11:22AM</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
