La-Z-Boy Updates Their Handle

Even the classic La-Z-Boy recliner has gotten a touch of modern fever. The company has introduced a new version of the blocky wooden handle used to drop tired bodies into instant relax mode. The new handle is called the Arc and has a sleeker design with a brushed metal finish. The new handle option is available for any La-Z-Boy motion furniture with a handle. It probably won't change most people's view of the furniture brand associated most with American sloth at its finest but it is a definitely an upgrade over the old handle.

This story reminded me of a situation that many will find funny . A few years ago I purchased a Lazy Boy Recliner from a store here in South Carolina (Farmer Furnature). The seat began to cave in and was very uncomfortable. My weight is 210 so the problem was not me being a real heavy person. I contacted the store and they send a chair technication to examine my recliner. After a few minutes this young man says to me the problem is you are sitting in your chair too long each day causing it to cave in. Then said that recliners are designed to be sat in 2-3 hours per day thats all. I could not believe the crap he saying. Just wondering if anyone ever heard this line besides me. Just curious.. Oh the chair tech got tossed out of my house on his ass.

I had a similar problem with a Kenmore vacuum cleaner. It makes some kind of burnt rubber smell. They told me I was running it too long. I live a house than 1000 square feet. Use it less than 30 minutes a week.

I AM USING A "LAZY-BOY" NOW, I WISH THE FEET WOULD GO HIGHER SINCE I NEED MORE CIRCULATION. I AM ALSO DISABLED AND CANNOT USE A STANDARD RECLINER. I HAVE MANY FRIENDS WISH FOR A HIGHER LIFT IN THE FEET. IT IS TOO HARD TO PUT A PILLOW UNDER MY FEET DUE TO MY LIVING ALONE. LET ME KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO IMPROVE OUR PROBLEM. THANK YOU

I have the same problem with poor circulation . A home health care worker tied a bedpillow to the footrest with clothesline rope, then got a piece of pcp pipe and extended the handle.

I paid $1000 + for 2 lazy boy recliners "guaranteed for life". After maybe 6 years the so called leather material peeled off, like sun burned skin. When contacting a number of their reps, I was told it did not cover the material and the material was no longer available.I had to junk them. They suck, won't ever buy another!!!!

I like the new handle. The old handle said "family room" with the worn furniture and stained carpeting. The new handle says living room, with the carpeting that is clean and the furniture that is only used for company.

La-Z-boy products are junk! I bought a new microfiber couch a few years ago and the wonderful microfiber simply disintegrated after 2 years. No abuse- it just disintegrated. I emailed the corporate headquarters, but never even received a reply. I'll never waste my money on their products again.

We are waiting for our LBchair to arrive. The old 6-8 week thing. After reading all of the negatives I have begun to wonder what I'm going to end with in the llong run. Makes one wonder. Shouldn't all of these problems be all sent to LB company and let THEM read them?
The man who takes the money in the final sale kept insisting that we should take the repair policy thing which we did not take cause we told him that it was guaranteed for life. Now I'm beginnng to wonder! And no mention of the arm caps and back cover. I called the next day to inquire about that. If you don't have them on the item, you will ruin your stuff. They are on all of our furniture now. Had to pay extra for them. At the price we paid for our chair, they should have been included. So the way things have started out I hope is not an indicator of what is yet to come.

Don't EVER buy a Lazy-Boy rocker recliner. OMG, they are the worst. If you want to just sit stationary without rocking, the entire thing leans forward and the bottom of the front hits your floor. I had to fight Oskar Huber (the store I bought it from) for 3 weeks before they would "allow" me to return it for a recliner that does not rock. My advice would be if you want a Lazy-Boy brand recliner, don't get the ones that rock. They are horrible!!!! And don't EVER buy anything from Oskar Huber. They are the worst store as far as customer service goes. I have never dealt with anyone like them before and will never buy another thing from their store.

This is a story? AOL ...can't you find something worthwhile in all of the world today? ANd quit recycling old stories with new lead ins. You are wasting my time.

My complaint isn't with Lazy-Boy, but with Danny Sinopoli's comment that the lounger is best known for "American sloth of its finest." My Mom used her Lazy-Boy to ease the pain of osteoperosis at night, since she couldn't use a bed, and I have followed in her health footsteps, and then some. I'd really like Lazy-Boy's users to be vindicated, and credit sent to this life-saving company.

Much too retro looking. Stay with the styles you have.
