Sean Diddy can charter a plane for much cheaper. As a jet broker, I have chartered planes for many who realize it's cheaper to just book the flight than deal with the hassles of ownership. You spend far too much on an aircraft's operating costs. Some of my friends actually have to charter off their jets to jet brokers just to afford it, since the cost of fuel. More and more aircraft are going on the market as rising fuel costs and other factors are making it more difficult to own a plane. It's never been cheap but now the prices are spiraling out of control. It's so easy to just pick up the phone and your plane is waiting for you. There are no other costs or worries associated with private flying, once someone brokers a jet. It's simple and the least expensive path to take without having to sacrifice luxury. Halcyon Jets has also quickly become one of the country's most reputable jet brokers. Just ask Spike Lee or Shaq. They not only fly with the company, they are a part of it.
Personally, I have chartered planes for myself while away on vacation and once while in a bind. being a jet broker, I still had to pay the costs, but, I found the ease of flying to be priceless. I was willing to pay the extra costs as it truly was the most luxurious experience I have ever encountered. As far as ownership is concerned, unless you can make the plane worthwhile by having it chartered out to cover your costs, you are usually out of pocket. I'm speaking from the perspective of an expert as I have been an aviation broker dealing with chartering and selling private jets. Owning and managing a jet is not only expensive, there are FAA regulations that make the whole process complex and cumbersome. Ultimately owning a plane entails dealing with one of the biggest liabilities on the planet, literally!
