Sean "Diddy" Combs Can't Afford His Private Jet

Sean "Diddy" Combs' relentless (and so far fairly fruitless) pursuit of an acting career has apparently taken a toll on his finances. In the latest installment of his video blog, the rap mogul complains that the gas price explosion has forced him to forego the use of his private jet on his now frequent trips to Los Angeles to meet with movie people. "Gas prices are too f-ing high!" he complains in the clip. "If I'm flying back and forth to L.A. twice a month, that's like $200,000 - $250,000 round trip. F-k that!"
As a result, Diddy says, he's gone back to flying commercial, and throws in an appeal to his "Saudi Arabian brothers" to "please send me some oil for my jet." He then insists, "This is really happening!", filming himself boarding an American Airlines flight, adding, "and I'm in coach!" We're pretty sure Diddy, who makes $35 million a year, is joking about that last bit.

I just read the story about Sean "Diddy" Combs having to fly first class now because he can't afford his private jet. I would just like to tell him I share his pain. I can't afford gas for my car, so I can't go out and find a job. I am losing my home, my lights will be shut off later this week and I'm eating every other day. But, as luck would have it even though he is suffering the indignity of having to fly first class, there are some advantages to this, if your looking at the bright side. They have free magazines in first class where he could learn that (1) when asking for a favor from the Arabs, he would be better served NOT to ask "Brothers and Sisters" since the Arabs tend to think of their women as lesser beings and would not be involved in any part of the decision making on the price of oil. (2) He could possibly read up on the reason that the oil companies have not lowered their prices. They have come out and said they need to re-coup their losses, because as the price of gas went up, people bought less, so they didn't make as much as they wanted to. And (3) he might be able to sit next to some one who is struggling to make ends meet (not as likely in first class as it would be in coach) and he could learn about how most of the people live.

This video blog was a joke making fun of the fact that people always come up to him really surprised that he flies commercial. Of course, he still flies private when he travels with a huge entourage. But he has been pursuing an acting career which requires him to fly back and forth from NY to LA with a much smaller entourage compared to other events such as promotional tours, this is when he flies commercial. He's a smart man that's why he's rich, and that's why he's not going to fly a G5 (or whatever he has) when he only has 1 or 2 people with him.

Sean Diddy can charter a plane for much cheaper. As a jet broker, I have chartered planes for many who realize it's cheaper to just book the flight than deal with the hassles of ownership. You spend far too much on an aircraft's operating costs. Some of my friends actually have to charter off their jets to jet brokers just to afford it, since the cost of fuel. More and more aircraft are going on the market as rising fuel costs and other factors are making it more difficult to own a plane. It's never been cheap but now the prices are spiraling out of control. It's so easy to just pick up the phone and your plane is waiting for you. There are no other costs or worries associated with private flying, once someone brokers a jet. It's simple and the least expensive path to take without having to sacrifice luxury. Halcyon Jets has also quickly become one of the country's most reputable jet brokers. Just ask Spike Lee or Shaq. They not only fly with the company, they are a part of it.
Personally, I have chartered planes for myself while away on vacation and once while in a bind. being a jet broker, I still had to pay the costs, but, I found the ease of flying to be priceless. I was willing to pay the extra costs as it truly was the most luxurious experience I have ever encountered. As far as ownership is concerned, unless you can make the plane worthwhile by having it chartered out to cover your costs, you are usually out of pocket. I'm speaking from the perspective of an expert as I have been an aviation broker dealing with chartering and selling private jets. Owning and managing a jet is not only expensive, there are FAA regulations that make the whole process complex and cumbersome. Ultimately owning a plane entails dealing with one of the biggest liabilities on the planet, literally!

Please tell Sean that Halcyon Jets has private aircraft available from less then half his estimated 200,000 dollars. Although if you are a Marquis Jet card holder, your paying about that 230,000. Teterboro NJ, to Van Nuys CA, on a heavy jet, less then 100,000.

this is pretty funny. I wish though he had appealled for jet fuel, or gasoline, not "oil"--planes don't run on oil.

go ahead diddy and save some cash, economy sucks right now. That is another reason why he is such a smart business man. Always thinking about the knowledge side of every mood he makes. He can still afford to do it everyday of his life if he wanted to do. Its being SMART!!!!!!!
