Designer Steel-Toed Boots, Already Destroyed
There are few things better in life than slipping your feet into a favorite pair of well-worn, comfortable, broken in shoes. It's such a luxury because it takes months and even years to get shoes into that broken-down customized state. Or does it? Maison Martin Margiela has designed this Steel-toed Destroyed Boot that comes pre-broken in. And in a serious way too -- the leather is so distressed on the toe that the steel lining actually shows through.
I think they look awesome in pictures but I can't help feeling like buying something already destroyed like this is cheating -- isn't what makes a pair of worn boots so cool the stories behind how they got that way? $1,145

The other day my teenage niece praised the look of my worn jeans. She was actually surprised and found it "cool" when I told her that all the wear patterns in those pants were my own and not made by some machine at the factory.
Pre-worn items are idiotic.

Thats like wankers buying "used"leather riding jackets and dont even ride. I agree the wear carries the story my leather jackets and pants have travelled with me all over the world whne I have gone riding and they look it. NO amount of fakery ever will replace the real deal.

I've never understood the kind of customer who would buy a pre-damaged product. What it shows is that the buyer has more interest in appearances than quality.

This is a better way to spend $1,000 on stylish kicks.
