Lil Wayne Ordered To Pay Bling Debt
While many musicians love their jewelry some can forget to pay for it. Last month I wrote about Wyclef Jean facing a lawsuit over unpaid-for jewels, this week it's Lil Wayne. The rapper whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. has been ordered by a Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge to pay a New Orleans jeweler $146,000 for a diamond ring and necklace. Lil Wayne had made arrangements with jeweler Jack Sutton to pay for the pieces in monthly installments in 2006. Sutton took Carter to court because Carter had made only one $24,000 payment over the last two years.Carter may return the $138,000 ring instead of paying in cash. The Miami Herald also reports that according to a May 6 notice of federal tax lien filed with Miami-Dade County, Carter owes nearly a million dollars ($977,840.81) to the IRS in income tax.

WHY DO PEOPLE ASSUME THAT IS THE RAPPERS THEMSELVES THAT ARE MANAGING THEIR MONEY?
IT NOT DUMMIES. THEY HAVE PEOPLE WHO DO THAT FOR THEM JUST LIKE WHITE SINGERS DO TAKE WILLIE NELSON FOR EXAMPLE . THE PREJUDICE AND IGNORANCE IN THE POSTINGS IS TYPICAL OF BIGOTS.
GET A BRAIN POSTERS ITS NOT THE RAPPERS.
OH AND DONT YOU ALL WISH YOU COULD EVEN AFFORD TO BUY SOMETHING LIKE THIS?

I agree with you 100%, FORKUU. There have been plenty of white Americans that have owed heaps of money on jewelry, cars, luxury homes and taxes. And, that have also been sued or gone bankrupt due to poor financial management.
For some reason - well, it's fear, ignorance and jealousy really - a few rednecks get upset when a black American is obviously successful. And, don't let that successful black then get into trouble - because these same hateful, ignorant, jealous rednecks will then jump up and down with glee and delight, and yell "I told ya! See how useless these nig*ers are!" Then they go back to sitting around in their trailers, rubbing their bellies and getting drunk on Budweiser, while success passes them by. ;)

The thing is that even when someone else is hired to manage your finances, you should always spend an hour weekly taking note of where your money is going, otherwise you leave yourself open to unethical behaviors. And your name is on the tax forms therefore you're ultimately accountable for your business.

I agree, btw, I'm a little amazed that people who are on the Luxist site can be such loser racists. And ,yes, you are racists.
I suppose in your world white people never live beyond their means. Notice I didn't say "white trash, crackers, ofays, honkeys, wiggers", or whatever. You can actually make your point without resorting to racist name calling. If you can't then you're not really in a position to denigrate anyone.
Do I believe, in general, that rappers are a bunch of posuers? Yes. But, so are a lot of rockers.
Those of you who feel the need to spout racism would be better served on Craigslist in the Rants and Raves section or perhaps there's a white supremacist site that involves luxury living where you can be amongst your own kind?
