Tybee Island, Estate of the Day

The price on this one is a bit much but there's only so much real estate on Tybee Island. Tybee Island is a wonderful vacation destination in Georgia with beautiful white sand beaches and the famed Tybee Island lighthouse. Today's home is a classic 1928 Tybee Island beach cottage. It's a four-bedroom home on 2.3 acres that includes 160 feet of ocean beachfront. The home is definitely older and in need of updates but it does have nice wood paneling and beautiful wraparound porches designed for leisurely summer afternoons. This home is listed at $12.9 million.

Wow, nice land....hideous house. I wouldn't give 200,000 for that house. Worst house I've ever seen on here. There have been some great ones lately.

Actually, I like it (except for the $$) and can totally see the potential. Fresh white paint througout--walls, floors, would make a huge difference.

"Hey Grandpa, guess what? We're selling the old beach house you gave to dad. For $13 million! Grandpa? You OK?"
Hey - I don't disagree that this may be the worst house you've posted in a while, but I congratulate you for posting it. Gotta love the one's that make you think. And I appreciate the lack of generic homes.
Keep up the good work. The houses are the only reason I stop by this site.

You mistakenly added an extra "0" on the sell price ??

I must agree, it's a gut job/rebuild. I love its cottage proportions but it just needs updating and better furniture, window dressings and landscaping. I wonder what the restrictions are for building.

Wow! that is way overpriced, even if there is a shortage of properties on the island

Hey, I live on Tybee Island and write a blog called TYBEE ISLAND JOY, and I understand why they are asking 13Mil for this house - it's THE LAND! Someone will buy the land and divide it up and make some money. Besides, you might be able to get it for 9 Mil, make an offer.
