Yesterday I mentioned that actor Nicolas Cage had put his Las Vegas home on the market. Cage, who has a variety of properties scattered all around the world, picked up this home in 2006 for $8.5 million. The Wall Street Journal reports that at that time he also picked up a home for $2.25 million on the same street but sold it last year for $2.3 million. Cage is looking to make a little more cash on this one, he's listed it for $9.95 million. The WSJ says that the 14,000-square-foot home with the 16-car garage has been on the market since last fall.
The seven-bedroom home isn't particularly notable. It's blandly extravagant with a sweeping staircase, home theater, elevator and panoramic views of Las Vegas. The home has a pool and spa and is located in a gated community for privacy. It's rich but it's nothing special and given the soft las Vegas real estate market he may have some trouble getting rid of this one.

Why would anyone spend that kind of money on a house with zero land around it. It is literally right on the street and your neighbors look right into your windows. I can understand that somewhere like Broad Beach in Malibu where there is only so much beach frontage, but in VEGAS? There is nothing but land out there and this doesn't even look that close to downtown to warrant an excuse. It looks like an overgrown tract home. I love Nick Cage but this house is horrible.

You must not be familiar with Las Vegas...this happens to be in a very exclusive gated community and trust me, his neighbors have much better things to do than look into his windows as they are also all multi-millionaires. It happens to be a desert here so our landscaping isn't green and lush, but obviously people like it here since we are the fastest growing city in America year after year after year! This house is about 5 miles from the Strip, and only people in the high-rise condos and apartments actually lives close to the Strip.

I like it. Heck if you got this much money buy out the neighbors or put up curtains. :)

Very nice bathroom setting, very large garage space, and this is the California style of housing where you're knee deep into someone elses house. Hell if there aren't any arguing with neighbors over property limits than whats the point?
