Win A John Ferdinand Bracelet
Men's jewelry is often a subject of some debate. Although men have been adorning themselves with jewelry for thousands of years, some say that men have no need for this type of embellishment. And certainly when it comes to men's jewelry, bad taste can abound. But simple, tasteful jewelry on a man can also be incredibly sexy.John Ferdinand is an independent accessories brand from Hong Kong. They create pieces styled in solid sterling silver and inlaid with ebony, using offcuts from furniture making which would otherwise be discarded. The pieces also come packaged beautiful raw bamboo boxes. Although they design primarily for men, the company has found that about half of their customers are women who are mostly buying for themselves. No surprise, the designs have a contemporary unisex appeal.
This week one lucky reader will win the Halcyon bracelet which features a chunky curved silver panel inlaid with ebony on a thick, soft strap of nappa leather with a silver buckle. It's got a watch-like appeal making it perfect for those who use their cell phone to tell time but would still like a bold piece of wrist candy.

A simple, medium link chain ( no charm ) and one small hoop earring.Very Sexy. And I think white gold instead of yellow is even better.

men's jewelry should be subtle if worn at all.
Drew Jul 8th 2008 9:47AM
Men wearing jewelry is not bad as long as it is only a few pieces. I think one ring in addition to a wedding ring is appropriate. I don't think wearing a bracelet and a watch would work well, but to each his own.

What's wrong with men wearing a few pieces of unique jewelry? Just don't overdo it. A nice watch, a ring, and bracelet are always good. Personally, I like to stand out in a crowd, a few unique pieces help to show some personality, especially when you have to wear a suit most days.

I like it when men wear jewelry as long as it is not over done. It shows their own personal sense of style and nothing is wrong with that.

I think every one is comfortable with men wearing large useless watch that don’t tell time accurately, so I think jewelry is the next logical step, just getting rid of any attempt at something function for something aesthetically pleasing.

Men should absolutely wear jewelry, not only is it a way for men to express their interests in style and fashion but it is also a creative venue for men to establish their own personal style. Wearing jewelry can set the tone and mindset (whether it is high fashion or a casual day) for men, I know when I am dressed it gives me a sense of accomplishment with the right jewelry.

i'm not eligible but i'd like to comment nonetheless. men are in nature, i believe, insecure. thus, the history of uniformity and armies when the world are still ruled by them. being given the sole responsibility of making decisions for everyone, they resent individualism over fear of being found lacking. this very nature fathered agression, tyranny and violence. as our age advances and women start filling up the corporate world, a new age dawned wherein men are allowed, even required to be sensitive, outspoken and unique. There couldn't be more a proper time for these embellishments to come out but as everything new the taste and styling should be nothing less than pragmatic to protect the age old perception of masculinity and ingenius to nurture the pride of this sex.

Men's jewerly is fine as long as it is not over the top and looks good.

First the term "Jewelry" is historically biased towards the delicate feminine adornments. I believe the male counterpart should be utilitarian first and aesthetically pleasing second. It should also have a timelessness about it as men are not going to be swapping out pieces every day to match their outfits.
It can be done, but it sure is a tall order.

Men wearing jewelry is like women wearing hats..not everyone can pull off the look. Just like any other fashion, men wearing jewelry should be tasteful, NOT tacky.

Jewellery for men is an absolute must. A great watch, matched to a chunky bracelet, with an earring (a simple understated hoop) and a nice chain all in matching material (white gold or silver) is great. A chance for individuality and to set off a nice outfit, accessorizing isn`t just for women. Unique pieces are even better.

men wearing jewelry is hot.. if its done right... it has to be subtle or you'll end up looking like a goodfella!
Christopher Lotito Jul 8th 2008 12:03PM
The question of whether or not men should wear jewelry as well as the nature of what is worn is comparable to asking whether or not a room should be decorated: the human body is a canvas for art used to convey the human experience, whether it be through jewelry, piercings, or tattoos. Equally, those who wear jewelry and other adornments should take seriously the responsibility that they hold for the messages those things convey.

The jewelry pieces have to be in proportion to your body; not too small or too big. Color is very important as well, it has to match your skin tone.
Karen Jul 8th 2008 12:34PM
Men wearing jewelry is fine when done with a little restraint. Don't try to be Mr. T.
Chip Jul 10th 2008 7:51AM
I think men should keep jewelry to 3 pieces or less, including watches and wedding rings. Precious stones are also best kept to a minimum. Anything more starts to look gaudy.
nestor Jul 8th 2008 1:31PM
If you can rock it and still look fly then why not. Just dont over do it...
Valentina Jul 8th 2008 10:10PM
From country, where I come it is not unusual for men to were jewelry, especially rings.
