Love the location of this one, and like the basics of the house but am NOT "taken" with the interior furnishing and would do as another says, take the house but furnish it elsewise (think the furnishings are actually quite garish and off putting but some do like such !!!

Boz54

Comments on Wikiosco, Estate of the Day

This is too funny, i have been in this house numerous times, my family and I used to stay in the cabins next door and I became friends with the kid who lived in the home, its really awesome and the cars in the garage are in bubbles to protect them from dust...just thought it was cool

Matt Dahl

Comments on Wikiosco, Estate of the Day

It is obvious from the other's comments that people love the house, love the setting, and either love or hate the decor. The first rule of decorating if you are going to sell is don't do anything that will offend your potential buyer. Keep it as appealing to as many people as you can. This house is designed to appeal to a very narrow spectrum of people and that is the reason it hasn't sold. Personally I would jave the worlds biggest garage sale and sell off about 95% of the furnishing. I think that one "loveseat" has got to be the ugliest piece of furniture I have ever seen in an elegant home. There would be a better chance of a sale if the place were empty.

Doug Nash

Comments on Wikiosco, Estate of the Day

I agree, an absolutely beautiful structure...just scrape the crap out of the interior and you could have a lovely house. The truely sad thing is that whoever did the interiors knows nothing about period furnishings. This house screams Arts and Crafts and the interiors have been done in a pastiche of mid-Victorian dreck. The only feature they got right are the orientals....the rest misses the mark. I'm sure they love it, as only a mother can love an ugly baby.

cairnhowff

Comments on Wikiosco, Estate of the Day

Beautiful setting, nice structure. UGLY fake "period" decorating - -did they do it themselves?? I would take it all down to plain white primer paint and start over! 2 yrs ago the markets were hot. . . I can't believe they kept the price the same.

Lori Hentges

Comments on Wikiosco, Estate of the Day

This is a gorgeous house! The furniture and decor are exactly what the house represents. You have to understand the era and style to get it. It may not be your "liking", but the house would look ridiculous painted white with modern furnishings!
Only wish I had the 17.9 million to buy it and treat it with the respect and admiration is deserves.

michele

Comments on Wikiosco, Estate of the Day

The house is beautiful, I love it but, it does look more like a museum, I would buy it, but for a summer vacation kind of place, ya know? But IT IS beautiful Stunning.. amazing.

mahi

Comments on Wikiosco, Estate of the Day

Stripping the interior of this Victorian mansion would absolutely ruin the value of this tremendous house. It's a Victorian-era house that has the appropriate Victorian-era interior colors and furniture (these items are not "fake period decorating"). If you want a modern interior then you should buy a modern house.

Vickie

Comments on Wikiosco, Estate of the Day

Sooooo, why don't you people that said you would buy it, do it? From exterior to interior, very exquisite. It is set back far enough from the lake and isn't to over come from the shading of the trees, I really like this property.
