2009 BMW 7 Series Revealed

Recently the fifth-generation of the BMW 7 series was secretly unveiled in Munich but don't worry it will soon be publicly presented in Paris in September. As the first car to offer full on-demand internet access which allows passengers to surf the web via an iDrive system, complete with color monitor and rotary controller, the new BMW 7 Series for 2009 is high tech, fast and fashionable. The new ride even sports rear-wheel steering...how does that work?! Surely, BMW has always been a desired automobile but I have to say the internet on the road, plus the usual classy luxury and high performance engine, make the new 7 Series one of the must-haves of this coming year.

Personally I think they've downgraded the style. The older (2 generations back) 7-series with the large hump boot rear was gorgeous! Why did they get rid of it!

You actually liked the Bangle Butt?
Chris: the car coverage on this site has been consistently weak, but this is better than the automotive misinformation minister that was Erin Mays.

While the Bangle butt was never my favorite, you have to give it to BMW and Chris Bangle for creating a look that was very dispised but very copied. If you dont believe, just look at the trunk of the current Mercedes S class. Same butt, slightly different. Now I wish they would learn to do an interior like Audi. Drop that double hump dash!! Lngtime Bimmer lover and driver here and it is true, NOTHING handles like a BMW!!

I hope this is a freaking joke! At least the previous version of the 7 were ground breaking design that many car companies followed. This new 7 looks like it was conceive at their Japanese design studios. Nothing wrong with that but, BMW as an independent company that never follows has gone on the Japanese footsteps. This looks like a Lexus LS from behind. They’ve taken out the gear shifter out of the steering wheel, which was one of the best features about this car. Clearly the new 7 is a copy of something that is a copy of a great line of cars that BMW used to be. I had a ‘04 7, now a have ‘08 7. This are great looking amassing cars. Going by these pictures I’ll never get this car. This is a boring car with no sense of identity or personality, blaaah! Where are the cojones of that grown breaking company BMW used to be…
