Ellen DeGeneres's Wedding Plans

Now that gay marriage is legal in California, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are planning a lavish ceremony, part of which will be shown on DeGeneres's talk show. And like other brides-to-be, De Rossi has something pretty to show off on her ring finger. DeGeneres has given her girlfriend an engagement ring designed by Neil Lane that features a marquis cut diamond sent with pink diamonds. There aren't many details on the couple's "dream wedding" but Ellen has hinted that some "incredible people" will be performing. Certainly it may be the most extravagant gay wedding since Elton John tied the knot.

I think this is wonderful.I see two beautiful women who seem to be happy and in love.Anyone who see's anything else has a closed mind and heart.Love & happiness is love & happiness no matter who you are or what sex you are.We should all be so lucky.I wish them all the very best.

The irony of your statement is that any differing opinion means the person has a closed mind, which, by your own words you have a closed mind as well. Everyone has their own biases. Telling someone they can't have an opinion other than your own is not very tolerant.

For a highly simplified example: I don't care for vanilla ice cream, therefore anyone who speaks highly of vanilla ice cream is wrong. But chocolate ice cream? Everyone should eat that even if they don't care for it because it is the best.

Now, since you are already forming an opinion that I must be hateful and homophobic, I personally don't care if they get married or not. Their personal decisions are theirs. I don't care much who marries who or if they are gay or not. I'm just trying to point out that by not accepting that others have different ideas, opinions, feelings and views and insisting that their ideas, opinions, feelings and views are wrong because they aren't YOUR ideas, opinions, feelings or views, is hypocritical.

Try to agree to disagree and you will be a happier person.

i think thats nice when two people in love are going to spend the rest of there happy life together am very happy for them and i hope the both of lots of love and happiness together ok mrs$mrs degeneres. i have that gene in me and have a nice lady in my life two but where am living to get married is not legal here and will not be so i wish you two all the good things that live has to offer to you both lots of love and peace to you both ok respect.good over evil god over the davil.
