The Scorpion Hybrid Supercar

It's red, it's sleek, it's the Scorpion from the newly formed Ronn Motor Company. It's main features include the fact that it goes from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and gets 40 mpg. So what's so special about that? How about the fact that it's also a hydrogen burning hybrid?
I'm no mechanic (couldn't be farther from it, actually) but the description on AutoblogGreen of how the engine works is really interesting. This car sounds like a really satisfying way to satisfy both a need for speed and an interest in preserving the planet (too bad it looks like a refurbished Viper).
The Scorpion will be manufactured in Texas and should be available to consumers this fall.

Does that look like a Dodge Viper to anyone else? It sure doesn't look like one to me.... I'd describe it more of a cross of the Tesla Roadster and a Porsche Carrera GT. But I guess that's why this isn't a car blog. :]

It looks like a computer mockup that was put together to garner interest from investors. These new cars are the new "Internet Boom" so a bunch of unscrupulous business people are putting out "ideas" and wild claims to sucker in investors.
This hype has been around a fair number of blogs about several different vehicles most with little to no technical information or pictures of a real working prototypes.

One of the things standing in the way hydrogen powered cars is that there is no feasible way to produce hydrogen w/o using more fuel. As poster #14 says in the link, science is being ignored.
