$1.9 Million Handbag Goes Up for Sale
I can't believe that a handbag made of platinum, over 2,000 diamonds, and valued at almost $2 million doesn't have a name other than "diamond and platinum handbag." We first mentioned this beauty of a bag about a year ago when it was on display in Tokyo and now it seems it will be making it's way around London in honor of London Jewelry Week.
Designed by Ginza Tanaka, the bag features a diamond shoulder strap that can be removed and worn as a necklace, plus the large (8ct) pear-shaped diamond decorating the front of the bag can be removed and worn as a brooch.
The bag is available for sale but due to security concerns the locations where it will appear will not be given to the public ahead of time -- I guess it's just a lucky "right place at the right time" kind of guessing situation if you want to see it!

I think the bag is totally cute. I just got back from London Fashion Week actually and I was able to see the handbag on display. My sweet-sixteen is coming up soon and my Daddy is looking into getting her to make another one.

I highly doubt this "Meredith" person is for real. If one bag was made in the entire world, I think it would make front page news if some spoiled grotesque 16-year old was getting the designer to make one just for her.

just to let you know 2 mill doesnt do that much if you really spread it out, it would be in pennies if it spread sall over the country, we would need billions at least just to get the "less fortunate" a few dollars if that.
But a purse worth a few mill is way to much and still i dont see why someone would want to pay for something like that, that costs more than a few hundred....

im not a stuck up brat and like i said my daddy is looking into getting her to make another one becuz i dont like that one as much as some of her others that are cheaper. it really hurts my feelings when you post hurtful comments like that. im alson just gonna let you know that the money i pay for purse like that will go to a foundation.

for the record, ppl who can afford bags like that, can and DO help the less fortunate among us. too bad ppl are greedy. ALOT of organizations out there mean well and do well. thing is, it cost MONEY to run these orgs and so all the money in the world would not be able to bring ppl up to standard b/c too many other ppl stand to get rich by saying they help the poor. it's a vicious cycle. if you don't think ppl like "merdith" are helping enough, why don't you get out there and help yourself? btw, i LOVE that bag! :)
