Green Our Vaccines, Charity of the Day

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy are hoping they can use their combined star power to help raise awareness this week for the Green Our Vaccines march and rally. Jenny's son Evan was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2005, and Jenny has been trying to help him and others by raising awareness of the possible link between autism and childhood vaccinations. The actors have joined with other national autism advocacy groups to press for the elimination of toxins from children's vaccines and to change children's vaccination schedules. It's always a heated debate, with facts and studies being presented on both sides, but a growing number of parents of autistic children believe that vaccines, especially those containing the mercury-based preservatives, are to blame for bringing on their children's autistic symptoms. I just saw this story on Jaunted.com as well. Glad to see it's being covered. This is truly a noble cause and if you didn't like Jim before, now it's hard not to like him.

Connecting Autism and vaccines is junk science at its worst. Records of 3,500,000 children in four countries have been examined and no connection has been found between vaccines and autism. And mercury-based preservatives have not been used since 1997.

The reason there is increase in autism cases is the change in the way it is diagnosed.

Keeping this junk science alive is creating horrific results. Many of parents are not allowing their kids to be vaccinated. Hundreds of thousands of children have damaged hearts or are crippled for life for this scare pushed entirely by trial lawyers.

These maimed children will be a monument to the lawyers craving for yachts and condos in Vail, Co. What these lawyers are doing is worse than murder.

Star, when you go home tonight just think how many children will be disabled because of this post.

Actually mercury is still used in 11 vaccines, just in smaller amounts - go to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.s website and read his articles - you will see the scientific info there.

Also, the flu vaccine contains mercury and the CDC outwardly admits it and the amount of mercury used is toxic if injested directly

Remember how mom used to say not to play with themercury of thermometers because they were poison? Well - why are we still injecting it in our kids today?
In 1983 there were only 10 recommended vaccines and today there are 36 - the increase in children diagnosed with autism in 1983 was 1 in 10,000 and today 1 in 150

That is probably the most asinine thing I have ever read on the internet. You are doing nothing but taking statistics and using them in such a way to make your valiant cause against injustice in America look valid.

That's not necessarily a connection. HOWEVER, there could be one. And if making the vaccines "green" could potentially help children whether it be with autism or with something else. Then I am all for it.

Robert Kennedy cannot be taken as an authority. He is funded by trial lawyers so he can not be trusted.

There are no child vaccines that use mercury as a preservative and none have done so since 1997. In addition, the governments of UK, Denmark, Sweden and Finland proved vaccines with mercury had no ill effects on the children.

I just went on a camping trip last week with an researcher in the causes of autism. He had this to say:

1. It has absolutely been proven that there is no connection between vaccines and autism.

2. In the past unusual children, were called:
a. mentally retarded
b. very quiet
c. loner
d. destructive
e. anti-social
f. strange
g. weird
Now all of these children are lumped together under the word "autism."

3. Parents are gaming the system. They know that if they can have their child diagnosed as autistic their child receives free private school tuition, private tutors and special classes. This gaming has driven the autistic numbers higher.

4. They have proven that autism is caused by genetics and they are working very hard determining which genes are causing the problem. Once those are found, a autistic vaccine may will be developed.

Junk Science? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! Before anyone goes out their wanting to say there is no connection between vaccines and autism, you need to do the RESEARCH and EDUCATE yourself!!!! I had to watch my perfectly NORMAL precious little boy fall apart after his MMR shot, and I mean within HOURS!!! I have fought like hell to recover him from this, and you can bet your a$$ that I will NOT EVER vaccinate my children again until the preservatives are removed, and the schedule is changed. ALL those so called studies that say there is not any connection are CORRUPT and TAINTED!!!! Most politicians OWN stock in drug companies, and they are not about to come forward and admit their mistake. The FDA and the CDC (ESPECIALLY) are corrupt as well. Furthermore, insurance companies will pay for practically anything except autism!!! While everyone deserves medical care, why should a drug addict, or an alcoholic get care, but not these kids? Those people made a conscious choice to do what they did. Our children were innocent babies, and we made the mistake of placing our trust in the wrong people!
Unless you are the parent of a child with autism, or it affects someone you love, you have NO IDEA what you are talking about! We are INTELLIGENT people who devote ourselves to helping our children, because no one else will!
We are NOT anti-vaccine - we just want a safer schedule and the preservatives removed. ANYONE who thinks putting mercury (and oh YES, it is still in MANY shots), antifreeze, formaldehyde, aluminum and aborted fetal cells is good for a BABY is just plain NUTS! Also, if vaccines work the way they are supposed to my child is NOT a threat! If your child has been vaccinated they are protected right?! Think about that for a while!

Parents are now "gaming" the system, to get free private school education for their kids? Are you nuts? My autistic son does not get a flippin' free private eduation. We pay almost $16,000/year AFTER insurance co-pays for ABA and speech therapy, not even mentioning his medical treatments. Your comment shows how ignorant, uninformed and lame people who have NO experience with autistic kids can be.

I am glad you got to go camping with a "researcher." Tell me, who funds his paycheck? Eli Lilly? Merck? Glaxo Kline Smith? Or does he research just for fun? Follow the money trail. There is a reason that all of the so-called "proven studies" that supposedly do not link vaccines and autism are not government funded. The government will not pay for a third party, unbiased study into autism vacc/non-vacc rates in this country. Now why could that be?

To the rest of you who keep chanting, "They took the mercury out of vaccines!" did anyone watch Larry King Live in February,2008, with Jenny McCarthy? Did you not hear with your own ears the AAP/CDC telling you that the flu vaccine, at the very least, HAS MERCURY IN IT!!!!!! Go get on YouTube and watch it yourself. So what the **** are you talking about? My child received his mercury laced flu vacc at 12 months of age. So get it through your heads. At least 11 vaccs still have mercury in them, including the flu vaccine.

Autism is not contagious, ignorance is.
