$15,000 Kenny Scharf Surfboard

I have never surfed in my life but if I was rich enough I might consider buying this $15,000 surfboard because it's just so pretty! It's part of a collection that is the result of a collaboration between designer Elie Tahara and artist Kenny Scharf. I love the yellow and red color combo (the collection also comes in a scheme of seafoam green and purple) and the pattern is an interesting mix of floral, science, and space objects. The Kenny Scharf collection is available now exclusively in Elie Tahari's boutiques in Soho and East Hampton New York.

Is this a surfboard or skateboard?

That is the strangest looking "Skateboard" I have ever seen, no wheels, no trucks, probably about 6'6" long with a leash strap mount, and it floats in the ocean with one rider waiting to catch waves, oh wait...that makes it a SURFBOARD, get your headlines right. Nice board though.>JB

You have got to be kidding, having been a surfer for 40 years or more now,15 grand for that $800,00 board at best ,is stupid, but some fool will pay it,You want to look at a board worth something in that area,Go to Ron Jons surf shop in Cocoa Beach fl,There you will find 2 Longboards from Rons private collection made of Balsa wood, you know the stuff they used to make boards out of,now these are collectiables ,you really dont want to ride these perfect condition custom hand made boards that are ,nothing like this basic looking board, you want to see a true work of art worth the money call or drop by and check those out,I think there were in the 5-$7,000 range ,I could be wrong ,they may be more ,but before Id plunk down 15 grand for that so called work of art,Id take a trip to see the balsa handmade wood boards which is a lost art now,jim aka smal

The first thing Id do with that yellow submarine board there is take it out and Ride it till i got my $15,000 bucks out of it and it best ride dang fine for that kind of money i could but 15 of the best made ride able boards for that easy.Anyone who buys a board for 15 grand that looks like that yellow submarine ,and hangs it on the wall,is best serving the rest of the surfing world by staying out of the water, lol
