Pharrell's Turn as Furniture Designer

This is the Perspective chair and it's the result of a collaboration between designer Pharrell Williams and Domeau & Pérès. Representing the love between a woman and a man, the chair is part of a collection (including another chair and a table) that will be displayed in a show in Paris at Emmanuel Perrotin Galerie starting in October and running through January 2009. The chairs will be available in different colors, with only 4 of each color being made.
Personally I think it couldn't be uglier...

Proof that talent in one creative area does not guarantee the same elsewhere.

Totally Tacky!

I agree it's not that great looking, but I'm surprised you didn't notice the position of their feet. I guess most of you don't engage in that stuff often so you don't get the joke.

Like everyone else here,I did notice,I did get the joke. And I still find it tacky. So there!...lol

I got it the moment I saw it.
Sad and unimaginative. It is like that annoying kid in your freshman year of high shcool who talked about all the tail he never got. Or the queer kid lying about their conquests. (I don't know anything about that...)
Pharrell is not a designer. Upon viewing Domeau & Pérès other works, this sad product cheapens their entire esthetic.
Tsk Tsk, Domeau and your brothers. You had a shred of credibility before this crap.

Oh I got it. Immediately. And then I shook my head. Tacky.

Who said this joker even had talent as a singer?

Brilliant. One day it will be totally passe of course, but how wonderful it is now at evoking strong responses. And there are plenty of instances where the body has been used as a part of furniture, it's following that line plus more.

I think if people did'nt know that Pharrell designed this, people would love it and gush over it and rave of its creative genius.

I clicked to one of the links in the story to see the picture of him sitting in the chair, and then it was even funnier to me because suddenly it's not just a couple portrayed in the chair, but becomes a three-way when someone actually sits in the chair. Even more deceiving and delicious.
